Press Release: 5 Win Week for Titleist

FIVE WIN WEEK FOR TITLEIST AND PRO V1

Titleist proves Tour stature once again with another great week on all Tours worldwide

This week saw another great performance for Titleist Pro V1 players with 5 wins across the globe. Argentinean Andres Romero (Pro V1x) won the Zurich Classic of New Orleans in his 12th career start on the US PGA Tour, closing with a 4-under par 68 for a 13-under 275 total. Regarded as one of the world’s hottest young golfing prospects, 26 year old Romero trusted Titleist to capture his maiden US PGA Tour title. Romero becomes the 8th player to win on the 2008 US PGA Tour with a Titleist golf ball, more than all other competitors combined. Titleist was the most played golf ball at the Zurich Classic with 100 players, more than five times the nearest competitor with 19.

Titleist golf ball players occupied five of the top six positions on the leaderboard including; Open Champion Padraig Harrington (Pro V1x), Woody Austin (Pro V1x) and Titleist ambassadors Tim Wilkinson (Pro V1) and Nicholas Thompson (Pro V1x).

Thomas Levet (Pro V1) topped 19-year old Oliver Fisher with a par on the first hole of a sudden-death playoff to claim the MAPFRE Open de Andalucia by Valle Romano.  The pair finished regulation play at 16-under par 272, each posting final round 5-under 67's. It marked the fourth career European Tour title for the 39-year old Levet, and his first since the 2004 Barclays Scottish Open. Lee Westwood (ProV1x) finished solo third at 13-under 275.

Titleist was the most played golf ball at the Open de Andalucia with 100 players, compared to 19 for the nearest competitor. The win is the 8th by a Titleist player on the 2008 PGA European Tour, nearly three times the nearest competitor with 3.

Elsewhere, on the Champions Tour Bernhard Langer (Pro V1) won the Ginn Championship Hammock Beach Resort for his second Champions Tour title in three starts. Gavin Coles (Pro V1) triumphed on the Nationwide Tour at the Chitimacha Louisiana Open presented by Dynamic Industries and Tyrone Ferreira (Pro V1x) won on the South African Open earning his first professional victory, posting a wire-to-wire triumph at the Chainama Hills Zambia Open.:

With 36 Worldwide Wins in 2008, over four times its nearest competitor with 8, this week’s performance and the constant flow of Titleist victories further demonstrates how the world’s best opt for the matchless performance of Titleist.
