Press Release: Titleist - The overwhelming golf ball of choice at The Masters

TITLEIST - THE OVERWHELMING GOLF BALL OF CHOICE AT THE MASTERS

Pro V1 the #1 ball at Augusta as Titleist tops iron, wedge and putter categories as well

Titleist has long been recognised for its golf ball usage across the worldwide professional tours, with club professionals and at every level of competitive golf. This year’s first Major was no exception with 55 players relying upon the superior performance of Titleist Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf balls at The Masters, nearly five times more than the nearest competitor with 12.

Titleist was also the top choice in the wedge and putter categories at The Masters. With short game performance to the fore on and around the treacherous greens of Augusta, more players placed their trust in the skill and craftsmanship of Titleist’s short game gurus Bob Vokey and Scotty Cameron than any other short game tools. Nearly three quarters of the field had at least one Vokey sand, lob or approach wedge in the bag, while almost a third of the players relied on the feel and precision of Scotty Cameron putters.

Titleist’s strong showing at The Masters saw tour acceptance of its AP2, ZM and ZB forged irons continue to gather momentum, with more players using Titleist irons than any other brand at Augusta.

Elsewhere, Spencer Levin (Pro V1) claimed a dramatic play-off victory on the Canadian Tour to boost Titleist’s 2008 victory tally to 42, nearly than four times the nearest competitor with 11.

The impressive usage figures in four major categories at Augusta, and the continuous flow of victories around the world for Pro V1 loyalists, prove once again that the game’s elite continue to opt for the matchless performance of Titleist.
