Press Release: Strange Win Is Familiar For Titleist
Aussie Scott Strange trusts Titleist equipment to claim maiden victory, including Pro V1x ball and AP2 irons

Titleist player Scott Strange earned his first career PGA European Tour victory in wire-to-wire fashion at The Celtic Manor Wales Open. The 31 year-old trusted Titleist by using the Pro V1, AP2 irons, Vokey Design Spin Milled sand and lob wedges, and Scotty Cameron Red-X putter. Strange, who opened with a course record 8-under 63 on Thursday, closed with a 7-under 64 to finish at 22-under 262, four shots clear of runner-up and Titleist ambassador Robert Karlsson (Pro V1x, 905 driver, 906F2 fairway metals, ZM Forged irons, Vokey Design gap wedge, Spin Milled sand and lob wedges, Scotty Cameron putter). Karlsson also shot a final round 64 and fired four consecutive rounds in the 60's to secure his 4th consecutive top 3 finish.
Titleist was the most played golf ball at the event with 106 players, more than five times the nearest competitor with 21. Indeed, Strange topped a leaderboard that featured no fewer than 10 Titleist ball players amongst the 14 players who were in the top 10 and ties.
On the US PGA Tour, Kenny Perry (Pro V1x) closed with a 3-under 69 to win the Memorial Tournament, becoming only the second three-time winner of the event. He finished with an 8-under 280 total and a two-shot margin of victory. In fact, Perry topped a leaderboard that included seven Titleist golf ball players among the top nine finishers.
Titleist was the most played golf ball at the limited-field Memorial Tournament with 73 players, compared to 17 for the nearest competitor. Titleist was also the top choice in the iron (29), wedge (111) and putter (50) categories.
Elsewhere, Titleist ambassador Jay Haas (Pro V1, 905R driver, 904F 3 and 5 metals, 585.H utility metal, AP2 irons, Vokey Design sand wedge, Spin Milled lob wedge, Scotty Cameron Studio Design putter) won the Principal Charity Classic for his second consecutive victory to move him into first place on the Champions Tour money list. The Sunshine Tour completed its third Vodacom Origins of Golf Tournament with Titleist full-line staff player Jean Hugo (Pro V1x) firing a 13-under 203 for a two-shot victory. On the LPGA Tour, Seon Hwa Lee (Pro V1) won the Ginn Tribute Hosted by ANNIKA, while InChoon Hwang (Pro V1x) claimed victory at the Kumho Asiana Open on the Korean Tour. A 5-win week for Titleist Pro V1 players saw this season’s Worldwide Wins tally rise to 71, nearly four times the next competitor with 19.
Impressive victories this week for Titleist staff players Scott Strange, Jay Haas and Jean Hugo, and the constant flow of victories for Pro V1 players, provides further proof that the world’s best opt for the matchless performance of Titleist.
