Press Release: Titleist tops the USPGA ball count once again

TITLEIST TOPS THE USPGA CHAMPIONSHIP BALL COUNT ONCE AGAIN

Titleist’s legendary Pro V1 family of golf balls is the preferred choice at the 91st US PGA Championships as Titleist also tops the irons, wedges and putter counts at Hazeltine

Titleist was the most played golf ball at the USPGA Championship with 88 players opting for the superior performance of the Pro V1 or Pro V1x, more than four times as many as the nearest competitor with 21. The feel and playability of Titleist irons, Vokey wedges and Scotty Cameron putters also saw Titleist become the most popular brand in the iron (36), wedge (136) and putter (53) categories at Hazeltine National Golf Club.

Notable finishers at the final Major of the year included teenage sensation and Titleist Ambassador Rory McIlroy and fellow Pro V1x loyalist Lee Westwood who tied for third place and were the top performing British players in the field.

Elsewhere, Titleist golf ball loyalists secured the top four spots at the Nationwide Tour's Price Cutter Charity Championship as Justin Bolli (Pro V1x) fired a six-under 66 to secure his third career Nationwide Tour win. Over on the Asian Tour, Titleist Brand Ambassador Chinnarat Phadungsil (Pro V1x, 909D2 driver, 904F PT 3-wood, 909H hybrid, ZM irons, Vokey Design gap wedge, Spin Milled sand and lob wedges, Scotty Cameron Studio Select Newport 2 putter) captured the Queen's Cup in his native Thailand for his third career Asian Tour title. These victories boosted Titleist’s worldwide wins for 2009 to 97, over five times as many as its nearest competitor with 19.

Yet another Major with Titleist as the clear #1 ball of choice, and the consistent flow of victories week in, week out on the world’s tours, provide further proof that at the highest level the game’s elite choose Titleist above all others.

Titleist: The #1 Ball in Golf.
