Press Release: Titleist's Award Winning Club Line in High Demand for 2010
TITLEIST’S AWARD WINNING CLUB LINE IN HIGH DEMAND FOR 2010
Titleist’s club business set for a strong year in 2010 with growing market shares, strong pre-book sales and accolades across the range from tee to green
Titleist, Golf’s Symbol of Excellence, has continued to increase its golf club market shares throughout 2009 and with new line-ups already scooping top awards in 2010 the trend is set to continue. The latest club offerings from Titleist have experienced healthy pre-book orders from accounts across the UK as new iron models, wedges and Scotty Cameron putters continue to meet the needs of consumers. The strength of Titleist’s hardware was further re-enforced with ‘Gold Awards’ in the Golf Digest awards, with a total of seven Titleist clubs scooping top honours in six different categories.
The Titleist clubs awarded top honours in the latest Golf Digest Hotlist were the Titleist F2/F3 fairway metal in the wood category, Titleist AP1 in the game improvement iron category, Titleist AP2 in the better player iron category, Titleist Vokey in the wedge category, Titleist Scotty Cameron Kombi in the mallet putter category, as well as the Scotty Cameron California and Scotty Cameron Studio Select series in the blade putter category. This comes on the back of a solid year in 2009 where, according to the latest retail audit from Golf Datatech, Titleist improved its market share in the UK in all major categories through the bag, from driver to putter.
Strong 2009 market shares throughout Titleist’s product range, as well as the successful Autumn launch of improved versions of the AP iron range and a new Scotty Cameron putter range have created the perfect platform for the 2010 sell-in period as Ken Graham, Titleist’s Director UK Sales and European Marketing, comments, “We were very pleased with how the Titleist line sold through in 2009, gaining share across the board despite very tough market conditions. With the new improved products for 2010 announced late last year the pre-book orders for 2010 have been extremely strong. The seven Gold Awards from Golf Digest underline the quality of the entire range and I am sure they will help to stimulate demand even more as the season gets underway.”
The AP1 and AP2 irons have been updated for 2010, with subtle refinements made to improve their playability and feel. Both models feature a new co-molded Tuned Feel System which improves the feel and sound of each club. The new AP1 also features a thinner top line and face which improves weighting for greater forgiveness. The new AP2 features refinements to the bounce on the sole of the club, resulting in better turf interaction and improved playability. In addition to improved versions of the AP1 and AP2 irons, Titleist has introduced new iron models aimed at skilled golfers; namely the Titleist CB and Titleist MB. The CB is a forged cavity back iron with optimum cavity shape and positioning to ensure maximum feel and playability, while the MB is a classic muscle back, forged iron. The MB features minimal progressive offset to ensure maximum shot making ability and the uniform muscle shape provides solid feel.
In addition to Titleist’s new iron models, the latest range of Scotty Cameron putters have joined the renowned Scotty Cameron Studio Select line in winning Gold awards in the Golf Digest Hotlist. The renowned Scotty Cameron putters join new Vokey design wedges and the successful 909 driver and fairway models to complete an impressive line-up for Titleist in 2010, which is set to strengthen Titleist’s position in the golf club market even further.
