Press Release: Stricker Trusts Titleist to Claim Victory at the Northern Trust Open

STRICKER TRUSTS TITLEIST TO CLAIM VICTORY AT THE NORTHERN TRUST OPEN

Titleist Brand Ambassador Steve Stricker rises to World #2 with Titleist’s fifth consecutive win on the 2010 PGA Tour

Steve Stricker continued Titleist’s stellar start to the 2010 PGA Tour season as he trusted Titleist equipment to claim his eighth career PGA Tour victory at the Northern Trust Open. Stricker’s win is the fifth in a row for Titleist golf ball loyalists on the PGA Tour following wins for Geoff Ogilvy, Ryan Palmer, Bill Haas and Ben Crane. Stricker fired a final round 1-under par 70 to finish on 16-under par, two shots ahead of Pro V1x loyalist Luke Donald, as three of the top four put their trust in Titleist balls for their success. The win also lifts Stricker to #2 in the Official World Rankings following three other wins in the last eight months for the full line Titleist player.

Stricker relied on Titleist to claim victory at the Riviera Country Club, using the legendary Pro V1 ball, 909D3 driver, 906F fairway, 909H hybrids, 755 irons and Vokey Design Spin Milled sand and lob wedges. As well as being the choice of the Champion, Titleist balls were the overwhelming favourite, with 79 players putting their trust in either the Pro V1 or Pro V1x, compared to 18 for the nearest competitor. Titleist also topped the counts for iron sets, hybrids, sand, lob and approach wedges and putters respectively. Stricker’s victory was also the fifth straight PGA Tour win for players using Titleist irons.

Elsewhere, Jim Herman won an all Titleist golf ball play-off as he beat Titleist Brand Ambassador Chris Kirk at the first play-off hole to claim his first Nationwide Tour victory at the Moonah Classic. Herman and Kirk tied on 11-under par, one shot ahead of Titleist Brand Ambassador Robert Gates, who continued his strong start to the 2010 season, having trusted Titleist throughout his bag to win the New Zealand Open last week. On the Asian Tour, Titleist Brand Ambassador Gaganjeet Bhullar fired a final round course record 8-under par to beat fellow Pro V1x loyalist Hwang Inn-choon by one shot to claim the season-opening Asian Tour International. These victories have now taken Titleist’s 2010 worldwide golf ball win tally to 12 compared to just 3 for the nearest competitor.

The fifth consecutive victory on the 2010 PGA Tour for the legendary Pro V1 franchise, and the third for a full line Titleist player, in addition to further victories across worldwide professional tours, provides further proof that the game’s elite opt for the matchless performance of Titleist.
