Press Release: Bohn Trusts Titleist for Classic Wire-to-Wire Victory
BOHN TRUSTS TITLEIST FOR CLASSIC WIRE-TO-WIRE VICTORY
Titleist Brand Ambassador Jason Bohn claims the Zurich Classic to headline a 5-win weekend for Titleist
Titleist Brand Ambassador Jason Bohn birdied the 72nd hole of the Zurich Classic in Louisiana to claim his second career PGA Tour victory. Bohn’s victory headlined a five win weekend for Titleist as the #1 Ball in Golf finished at the top of leaderboards across the world.
Bohn birdied three of his final four holes in Sunday’s final round to finish on 18-under par 270, two shots ahead of Pro V1x loyalist Jeff Overton and four ahead of Titleist Brand Ambassador Troy Merritt, completing a Titleist 1-2-3 in Louisiana. Bohn’s flawless display sees him become the first player since 1986 to record a wire-to-wire victory in the Zurich Classic, having taken a share of the lead after a first round 65 on Thursday, never relinquishing his position at the top of the leaderboard.
Bohn trusted the feel and playability of Titleist from tee-to-green for his wire-to-wire victory including the Pro V1x ball, 909D3 driver, 909F3 3-wood, 909H hybrids, new Titleist MB irons, Vokey Design Spin Milled pitching, sand and lob wedges and Scotty Cameron Newport putter. As well as being the choice of the top three finishers at TPC Louisiana, the Titleist Pro V1 franchise was also the choice of the majority of the field with 104 players putting their trust in Titleist golf balls, more than five times the nearest competitor with 18. Titleist also topped the counts for iron sets, sand, lob and approach wedges and putters.
Elsewhere, on the Champions Tour, Titleist golf ball loyalist Mark O’Meara (Pro V1) shot a final round 10-under par 62 with his partner before claiming the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf at the second play-off hole ahead of Pro V1x loyalist Joey Sindelar and his partner. On the Nationwide Tour, Ewan Porter trusted the Pro V1x to claim the South Georgia Classic with a final round 2-under par 70, for his second Nationwide Tour victory. On the Japan Tour, Hiroyuki Fujita (Pro V1) claimed the Tsuruya Open at the second play-off hole, ahead of Pro V1x loyalist Toru Taniguchi, for his ninth career title on the Japan Golf Tour. In South Africa, Titleist Brand Ambassador Jbe Kruger shot a final round 65 to claim a two shot victory at the Africom Zimbabwe Open, and Titleist’s impressive five win weekend was completed by Rob Grube (Pro V1) who claimed the Riviera Nayarit Classic on the Canadian Tour ahead of Pro V1x loyalist Lucas Lee. These victories take Titleist’s 2010 worldwide golf ball win count to 36, compared to just 8 for the nearest competitor.
A historic wire to wire victory for Jason Bohn in the Zurich Classic, as well as a host of other victories on worldwide professional tours, continues to prove that the world’s best players opt for the matchless performance of Titleist for their success.
