TITLEIST TRUSTED FOR VICTORIES AROUND THE WORLD
Legendary Titleist Pro V1 claims four victories around the world including a first Seniors Major title for Titleist golf ball loyalist Bernhard Langer
Titleist, the #1 ball in golf, emerged victorious around the world this weekend, topping four leaderboards across worldwide professional tours including a second Major in two weeks. Following Louis Oosthuizen winning his maiden Major title with the Pro V1x at last weeks’ Open Championship in St. Andrews, Bernhard Langer followed the South African’s example, trusting the Pro V1 to claim the Senior Open for his maiden Senior Major victory. Also trusting Titleist for victory this weekend were Richard S. Johnson (Pro V1x) who claimed the Nordea Scandinavian Masters on the European Tour, Jiyai Shin (Pro V1) who won the Evian Masters on the LPGA Tour and D.J. Brigman (Pro V1x) who won the Nationwide Tour’s Children’s Hospital Invitational.
Langer topped a leaderboard littered with Titleist Pro V1 loyalists at the testing Carnoustie Links, firing a final round 1-over par 72 to finish on 5-under par 279 and claim victory by one shot from Corey Pavin (Pro V1). Joining Langer and Pavin at the top of the leaderboard were fellow Titleist golf ball loyalists Jay Don Blake (Pro V1x), Russ Cochran (Pro V1) and Peter Senior (Pro V1) who tied for third place with one other, as the top performers trusted the feel and playability of the legendary Pro V1 for their success. The majority of the field also trusted Titleist with 107 players teeing up the Pro V1 or Pro V1x, compared to 16 for the nearest competitor.
On the European Tour, Richard S. Johnson became only the second Swede to win the Scandinavian Masters, trusting the Pro V1x to claim his second European Tour victory. Johnson closed with a final round 71 to finish on 11-under par and finish one shot ahead of the field, including last weeks’ Open Champion, Louis Oosthuizen who finished tied for fourth alongside Titleist Brand Ambassador Brett Rumford and one other. Titleist was also the golf ball of choice in Sweden with 96 players putting their trust in the #1 ball in golf, three times more than the nearest competitor with 32.
Elsewhere on the LPGA Tour, Jiyai Shin reclaimed the World Number One spot after trusting the Pro V1 to claim victory in the Evian Masters. Shin’s final round 5-under par 67 gave her a one shot victory over a trio of players including fellow South Korean and Pro V1x loyalist Na Yeon Choi, who won the LPGA Tours’ Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic last week. On the Nationwide Tour, D.J. Brigman fired a final round 7-under par 64 to claim the Children’s Hospital Invitational with a 10-under par total. These victories take Titleist’s 2010 worldwide golf ball win count to 75, compared to 16 for the nearest competitor.
A second Major victory in two weeks for the legendary Titleist Pro V1, coupled with a trio of wins around the world, continues to prove that the world’s best players opt for the matchless performance of Titleist for their success.
