CONTINUED TRUST. A WINNING SCRIPT.

Titleist golf ball loyalists Mahan, Lunde and Frost lead the #1 Ball in Golf to a three win week

On the PGA Tour, taking your game to the next level requires persistent dedication and complete trust in your golf ball. In his victory at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, Hunter Mahan trusted the Titleist Pro V1x to overcome a four-shot deficit by closing with a 6-under par 64. The two-shot victory was the third of his PGA Tour career and his second this year, having also won the Waste Management Phoenix Open in February. Titleist momentum continued at the PGA Tour’s Turning Stone Resort Championship, as Mahan’s fellow Pro V1x loyalist, Bill Lunde, captured his first career PGA Tour title after firing a final round 6-under par, 66.

Mahan carded six birdies in the final round and played the last 29 holes of the tournament without a bogey. He finished at 12-under par, 268, two strokes clear of Ryan Palmer who trusted the feel and control of the Titleist Pro V1 to finish second, and three strokes ahead of Titleist Brand Ambassador Bo Van Pelt, who tied for third on 9-under par, completing a Titleist 1-2-3 in Akron. As well as being the choice of the champion in Akron, Titleist was the golf ball of choice at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational with 40 players, more than three times the nearest competitor with 13. Titleist also topped the counts for irons, hybrids and sand, lob and approach wedges.

On the PGA Tour, Pro V1x loyalist, Bill Lunde fired a final round 66 to claim his first career PGA Tour title by one shot at the Turning Stone Resort Championship. Lunde finished the tournament at 17-under 271, ahead of five Titleist golf ball loyalists among the seven players finishing tied for third or better, including Titleist Brand Ambassador Michael Sim. Sim led the field in putting for the week, and was joined by fellow Pro V1x loyalists Jerry Kelly, Josh Teater and Billy Mayfair in a tie for third. Titleist was also the golf ball of choice at the Turning Stone Resort Championship with 90 players, six times the nearest competitor with 15. Titleist also topped the counts for irons, hybrids and sand, lob and approach wedges.

Elsewhere, on the Champions Tour, David Frost trusted the Pro V1x to rewrite the record books at the 3M Championship en route to his first career Champions Tour victory. Frost’s final round 11-under par 61 set a new course record at the TPC Twin Cities, and his 25-under total of 191 broke the tournament scoring record by two strokes. That score also matched the Champions Tour scoring record for all 54-hole events, shared by three players. On the Korean Tour, Kim Bio (Pro V1x) captured his first victory as a professional at the Johnnie Walker Open. Kim posted four consecutive rounds in the 60’s for a 20-under par total and six shot victory from fellow Titleist golf ball loyalists Lee Min Chang (Pro V1) and Yoon Jung Ho (Pro V1x). These victories take Titleist’s 2010 worldwide golf ball win count to 84, compared to 17 for the nearest competitor.

A third PGA Tour title for Hunter Mahan coupled with a record breaking victory on the Champions Tour and further victories around the world, continues to prove that the world’s best players opt for the matchless performance of Titleist for their success.
