Press Release: World's best players put their trust in Titleist at the USPGA Championship

WORLD’S BEST PLAYERS PUT THEIR TRUST IN TITLEIST AT THE USPGA CHAMPIONSHIP

Titleist’s legendary Pro V1 family is the preferred choice at the 92nd US PGA Championships as Titleist also tops the irons, hybrids, wedges and putter counts at Whistling Straits

Titleist, the #1 ball in golf, was the choice of the majority of the field at the final major championship of 2010. The legendary Pro V1 and Pro V1x balls were trusted by 85 players at Whistling Straits, more than four times the nearest competitor with 20. The feel and playability of Titleist equipment was also recognised, as Titleist topped the counts for iron sets, hybrids, wedges, and putters, respectively.

As well as being the choice of the majority of the field in Wisconsin, there were also a number of notable finishes by Titleist golf ball loyalists. Bubba Watson trusted the feel and control of the Pro V1x to tie for the lead after the regulation 72 holes, before losing a three-hole play-off by a single shot. Titleist Brand Ambassador Rory McIlroy continued his impressive form in Major championships as he followed up his third place finish at last month’s Open Championship with another third place finish in the USPGA Championship. Joining McIlroy towards the top of the leaderboard were fellow Titleist full line players Zach Johnson (Pro V1x), who tied for third one shot off the lead, and Jason Dufner (Pro V1) who tied for fifth alongside Pro V1x loyalist Steve Elkington.

Elsewhere, on the Nationwide Tour Titleist Brand Ambassador Hunter Haas fired a final round 7-under par 65 to claim the Price Cutter Charity Championship by six strokes. Haas finished ahead of fellow Pro Vx loyalists Jonas Blixt and Jason Schultz, and one other, to claim his third Nationwide Tour title. On the Canadian Tour, Titleist Brand Ambassador Aaron Goldberg held off fellow Pro V1x loyalist Trey Denton in an all-Titleist Pro V1x play-off to claim his second consecutive Canadian Tour title. Goldberg eagled the first extra hole to claim his second victory of the 2010 season and further establish his position at the top of the Canadian Tour Order of Merit. These victories take Titleist’s 2010 worldwide golf ball win count to 86, compared to just 17 for the nearest competitor.

Another Major championship where the majority of the field put their trust in the feel and control of the legendary Pro V1 franchise, as well as the consistent flow of victories around worldwide professional tours, continues to prove that the world’s best players opt for the matchless performance of Titleist.
