Press Release: Atwal makes history with Titleist

ATWAL MAKES HISTORY WITH TITLEIST

Pro V1x loyalist Arjun Atwal wins the Wyndham Championship for his first PGA Tour title

On golf’s biggest stage, breakthrough performances don’t come by accident. Winning on the worldwide professional golf tours requires exceptional talent and unwavering belief; in yourself and in your golf ball. In a dramatic performance, Pro V1x loyalist Arjun Atwal trusted Titleist to become the first Monday qualifier in 24 years to win on the PGA Tour. Atwal fired a final round 3-under par 67 to claim a one stroke victory in the Wyndham Championship, and lead a three win weekend for the legendary Pro V1 franchise.

Atwal led throughout the week in North Carolina. Having won the Monday qualifier with a bogey-free 65, Atwal carried his momentum into Thursday firing an opening round 9-under par 61 that gave him the first round lead. Atwal trusted the feel and control of the Pro V1x to complete his wire-to-wire victory with a 20-under par total on Sunday, one shot ahead of four Titleist golf ball loyalists who finished in the top-3 and ties. Pro V1 loyalist David Toms fired a final round 6-under par 64 to finish one shot behind Atwal, and one ahead of four players who tied for third; Titleist Brand Ambassador Michael Sim and Pro V1x loyalist John Mallinger, both of whom shot final round 62s, to complete a Titleist 1-2-T3.

Elsewhere, on the South African Tour, James Kingston (Pro V1x) claimed his 11th career victory on South Africa’s Sunshine Tour with a two shot victory in the Vodacom Origins of Golf. Kingston closed with a final round 72 to edge out one other player in second place and finish ahead of Grant Muller and Warren Abery, both of whom trusted the Pro V1x to finish tied-third. On the Canadian Tour, Kent Eger won the Economical Insurance Groups Seaforth Country Classic for the second time in three years, firing a final round 6-under par 65. Eger led a Titleist 1-2-T3 ahead of Pro V1x loyalists Josh Geary, who finished second, and Tom Glissmeyer who tied for third.

A maiden PGA Tour win for Arjun Atwal, to accompany his titles won on the European, Asian and Nationwide Tours, coupled with the consistent flow of victories across worldwide professional tours continues to prove that the world’s best players opt for the matchless performance of Titleist.
