TITLEIST LOYALISTS SHINE IN WALES AS EUROPE RECAPTURES THE RYDER CUP

Titleist golf ball loyalists lead their teams at the Celtic Manor as Europe claims a narrow victory in the 38th Ryder Cup

Titleist Brand Ambassador Steve Stricker (Pro V1) was joined by Titleist golf ball loyalists Luke Donald (Pro V1x) and Ian Poulter (Pro V1x) as the joint top point scorers in the 38th Ryder Cup matches. The legendary Titleist Pro V1 franchise was the #1 ball at the Celtic Manor, with 12 players putting their trust in the feel and control of the Pro V1 and Pro V1x. Stricker, Donald and Poulter all claimed three points from a possible four in a tense Ryder Cup, which went down to the final singles match on Monday afternoon, where Europe eventually prevailed 14 ½ - 13 ½ to regain Samuel Ryder’s famous old trophy.

Luke Donald and Ian Poulter lead the European team point scorers and successfully combined in the second session foursomes before both players went on to claim victory in the all important final session singles. Also claiming three points from four matches was Titleist Brand Ambassador Steve Stricker, who was joint top point scorer for the US Team. The World #4 lead the US team in the top match of the singles, claiming a tense victory over fellow Titleist golf ball loyalist and European #1, Lee Westwood (Pro V1x). Also providing a notable display in Wales was Titleist Brand Ambassador Rickie Fowler. Trusting the playability of Titleist throughout his bag, Fowler finished with three consecutive birdies in his singles match to claim a half and throw the contest into the balance before Europe eventually claimed victory. Also trusting Titleist at the Celtic Manor were Titleist Brand Ambassadors Rory McIlroy, Ross Fisher and Zach Johnson as well as Titleist golf ball loyalists Padraig Harrington (Pro V1x), Hunter Mahan (Pro V1x), Bubba Watson (Pro V1x) and Jeff Overton (Pro V1x).

On the PGA Tour Titleist Brand Ambassador Bill Haas completed a wire-to-wire victory at the Viking Classic with five birdies in his final round for a three shot victory. Haas posted a 15-under par total, trusting Titleist equipment from tee-to-green, including the Pro V1x golf ball, new 910 D2 driver, new 910F fairway metal, CB irons, Vokey Design wedges and Scotty Cameron Kombi putter. Haas lead an all-Titleist top-4 in Mississippi which included Pro V1x loyalist Michael Allen who finished second on his own and Titleist Brand Ambassadors D.J. Trahan (Pro V1x) and Brendon DeJonge (Pro V1x) who tied for third on 11-under par. Haas joins Titleist Brand Ambassadors Ross Fisher and Charley Hoffman in winning with the new Titleist 910 driver, following their respective wins on the PGA and European Tours since the 910 drivers were seeded to Titleist’s tour staff earlier in the season.

Elsewhere, on the Nationwide Tour Steven Bowditch trusted the Pro V1x to claim the Soboba Golf Classic by three shots ahead of fellow Pro V1x loyalist Daniel Summerhays. On the Japan Tour, Titleist Brand Ambassador Michio Matsumura (Pro V1x) trusted Titleist throughout his bag, including the new Titleist 910 D2 driver, to post seven birdies in his final twelve holes and come through a play-off to win his first Japan Tour title at the Coca-Cola Tokai Classic. On the Asian Tour, Pariya Junhasavasdikul (Pro V1x) beat fellow Titleist golf ball loyalist M. Siddikur (Pro V1x) in a play-off to win the 2010 Mercuries Taiwan Masters for his first victory on the Asian Tour. On the South African Tour, Michiel Bothma (Pro V1x) carded a final round 6-under par 66 to claim victory at the SAA Pro-Am Invitational with a 10-under par total. These victories take Titleist’s 2010 worldwide golf ball win count to 111, compared to 21 for the nearest competitor.

A stunning display by Titleist golf ball loyalists at the 38th Ryder Cup as well as Bill Haas’ second PGA Tour victory of 2010 and further wins around the world, continues to prove that the world’s best players opt for the matchless performance of Titleist for their success.
