Press Release: Crane leads stunning seven win weekend for Titleist

CRANE LEADS STUNNING SEVEN WIN WEEKEND FOR TITLEIST

Titleist Brand Ambassador Ben Crane adds another win to the 910 driver roll of honour as Pro V1 loyalists top leaderboards around the world

In the first PGA Tour-sanctioned event to be held in South East Asia there was a familiar golf ball at the top of the leaderboard, as Titleist Brand Ambassador Ben Crane trusted the legendary Pro V1x to claim his second victory of the 2010 season at The Mines Resort. Crane birdied his final hole to post an 18-under par total and claim victory by one shot ahead of a top-10 that included eight Titleist golf ball loyalists. It was a similar story around the world as six more Pro V1 or Pro V1x players joined Crane in claiming victory across worldwide professional tours this weekend, as Titleist continued to be the choice of champions.

Having already won at the Farmers Insurance Open earlier this year, Crane trusted a host of Titleist clubs on the way to his fourth career PGA Tour title, including the new Titleist 910 D2 driver. Crane’s win marks the tenth victory around the world for the new Titleist 910 driver series, as he joins Charley Hoffman, Ross Fisher and Matteo Mannasero in trusting the stability and control of the 910 driver to taste victory on the PGA or European Tour. Also in Crane’s bag in Malaysia was a 909H hybrid, AP2 irons and Vokey Design wedges. As well as being the choice of the champion, Titleist was the overwhelming golf ball of choice with 68% of the field choosing either the Pro V1 or Pro V1x, more than six times the nearest competitor. The playability and precision of Titleist equipment was further underlined at the Asia Pacific Classic, as Titleist equipment also topped the counts for drivers, iron sets and sand, lob and approach wedges respectively.

Crane was joined in the winners’ circle by a host of Titleist golf ball loyalists this week as the #1 Ball in Golf continued to eclipse it rivals at the top of leaderboards. On the LPGA Tour, Na Yeon Choi (Pro V1x) defended her Hana Bank Championship crown in South Korea. Choi’s second victory of the 2010 season sees her move to the top of the LPGA Tour money list. On the Champions Tour, Rod Spittle (Pro V1) came through an all Titleist golf ball play-off, beating Jeff Sluman (Pro V1) to claim the AT&T Championship for his first Champions Tour title. On the Nationwide Tour, Brendan Steele (Pro V1x) beat Titleist Brand Ambassador Colt Knost (Pro V1x) at the fourth extra hole to claim the Nationwide Tour Championship and secure his card for the 2011 PGA Tour. On the Japan Tour, Titleist Brand Ambassador Kyung-Tae Kim (Pro V1x) won the Mynavi ABC Championship for his third victory of the season. On the Sunshine Tour, Titleist Brand Ambassador Jean Hugo (Pro V1x) claimed his third victory of the season at the Platinum Classic, ahead of an all-Titleist Pro V1x top four. On the Australasian Tour, Pro V1x loyalist Brad Kennedy claimed his first PGA Tour of Australasia title at the John Hughes WA Open, with a 10-under par total. On the Korean Tour, KyungNam Kang (Pro V1) edged fellow Titleist golf ball loyalist NoSuk Park (Pro V1x) in the final of the Munsingwear Match-Play Championship, where all four semi-finalists trusted Titleist golf balls for their success. These victories take Titleist’s 2010 worldwide golf ball win count to 133, more than five times the nearest competitor with just 23.

A second victory of 2010 for Titleist Brand Ambassador Ben Crane, coupled with multiple wins across worldwide professional tours for Pro V1 and Pro V1x players, continues to prove that the world’s best opt for the matchless performance of Titleist.
