Press Release: Titleist Launches Lewis to Major Victory

TITLEIST LAUNCHES LEWIS TO MAJOR VICTORY

Stacy Lewis trusts the #1 Ball in Golf to claim her first LPGA Tour victory at the Kraft Nabisco Championship while David Horsey wins on the European Tour in Morocco

Titleist golf ball loyalist Stacy Lewis made her first LPGA Tour title a Major one, finishing three shots ahead of fellow Pro V1x loyalist Yani Tseng at the Kraft Nabisco Championship. Lewis matched the low score of the final round at Mission Hills Country Club, firing a 3-under par 69 to lift the first trophy of her professional career and, in doing so, added the first major of 2011 to the plethora of Titleist golf ball wins across the worldwide professional tours this year. Lewis was joined in the winners’ circle by David Horsey who trusted the New Pro V1x to emerge victorious from a three-way play-off at the Trophée Hassan II in Morocco to claim his second career European Tour title.

Trusting the feel and control of the legendary Pro V1x Lewis edged out World #1 and defending champion Yani Tseng, who had held a two shot lead going into the final round. As well as being the choice of the top two finishers in California, Pro V1 loyalists Katie Futcher and Angela Stanford shared third place with one other as four of the top five finishers trusted Titleist golf balls. Titleist was also the overwhelming choice at the Kraft Nabisco Championship with 81 players, nine times the nearest competitor with nine.

On the European Tour, Pro V1x loyalist David Horsey held his nerve against fellow Titleist golf ball player Rhys Davies (New Pro V1) and one other to win his second career European Tour title at the second extra hole. Having shared the overnight lead, Horsey benefitted from the exceptional distance, consistent ball flight and superior control of the New Pro V1x to birdie the second play-off hole and claim victory. Horsey was joined at the top of the leaderboard by Titleist Brand Ambassador George Coetzee (Pro V1x) as three of the top four finishers put their trust in Titleist. The legendary Pro V1 franchise was also the most played ball in Morocco, with 70 players, nearly four times the nearest competitor with 18.

Elsewhere, on the Champions Tour, Tom Lehman (Pro V1) followed his course record 64 on Saturday with a final round 3-under par 69 to claim the Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic by four shots. Titleist was the overwhelming golf ball of choice with 52 players, more than four times the nearest competitor with 12.
These victories take Titleist’s worldwide golf ball win count to 33, compared to 6 for the nearest competitor.

The first Major of 2011 and a first career LPGA Tour title for Titleist golf ball loyalist Stacy Lewis, coupled with a second European Tour title for David Horsey and further wins around the world for the #1 Ball in Golf, continues to prove that the world’s best players opt for the matchless performance of Titleist for their success.
