WESTWOOD AND WATSON CONTINUE TITLEIST’S GLOBAL MOMENTUM
Pro V1x loyalists Lee Westwood and Bubba Watson trust Titleist to claim victories as the #1 Ball in Golf continues its winning momentum with victories around the world
Titleist golf ball loyalists Lee Westwood and Bubba Watson celebrated impressive victories this weekend, trusting the feel and control of the Pro V1x to headline a four-win weekend for Titleist golf ball players around the world. Westwood solidified his World #1 ranking with his second victory in two weeks at the European Tours Ballantine’s Championship, while Bubba Watson claimed the Zurich Classic of New Orleans on the PGA Tour. Joining Westwood and Watson in the winners’ circle was Maria Hjorth (Pro V1) who claimed her second victory in six starts on the 2011 LPGA Tour, as the #1 Ball in Golf continues to be the choice of champions.
Following his three shot victory at last weeks’ Indonesian Open, Westwood fired a final round 5-under par to claim a one shot victory in South Korea and secure his 21st career European Tour title. The World #1 started the final round three shots behind the overnight leader before trusting the precision and control of his golf ball to fire the lowest final round of the field and secure the second win in as many starts. As well as being the choice of the champion at Blackstone Golf Club, Titleist was also the overwhelming favourite amongst the field with 88 players, more than three times the nearest competitor with 25. The precision and feel of Titleist equipment also saw Titleist top the counts for hybrids; iron sets; and sand, lob and approach wedges.
On the PGA Tour, Pro V1x loyalist Bubba Watson came through an all Titleist play-off against Titleist Brand Ambassador Webb Simpson to secure his second victory of the 2011 PGA Tour. It was a story of length and precision for Watson, who trusted the New Pro V1x to lead the field in both driving distance and greens in regulation. Both Watson and Simpson fired 3-under par 69’s in the final round to tie for the lead, two shots ahead of three players tying for third, including Titleist Brand Ambassador Jason Dufner and Pro V1 loyalist K.J. Choi. Titleist was the overwhelming golf ball of choice at TPC Louisiana with 104 players, more than five times the nearest competitor with 18. Titleist was also first in iron sets and putters respectively.
Elsewhere, on the LPGA Tour, Pro V1 loyalist Maria Hjorth topped an all Titleist golf ball top-3 at the Avnet LPGA Classic. Hjorth fired 12 birdies and an eagle over the weekend to secure her fifth career LPGA Tour title ahead of 9 Titleist golf ball loyalist finishing in the top-10 and ties. On the Nationwide Tour, a Titleist golf ball loyalist came through Monday qualifying to secure the South Georgia Classic, topping a leaderboard littered with Titleist golf ball loyalists. Another multiple win weekend increases Titleist’s 2011 worldwide golf ball win count to 42, more than five time the nearest competitor with 8.
A second consecutive win for Pro V1x loyalist Lee Westwood, coupled with further wins for Bubba Watson and Titleist golf ball loyalists around the world, continues to prove that the world’s best players opt for the matchless performance of Titleist for their success.
