  1. I was looking where to buy an AP2 irons last night and came across the site - www.ukprogolfstore.com. They offer a 3-PW set for 249 pounds. Did anyone have heard of them, it seem too good to be true to me? I live in Bulgaria and the price includes shipment as well. So, does anyone knows what is their business?

    Hi Krasimir,

That is one of many rogue sites that we are aware of that is selling counterfeit product.

The adage "If it looks too good to be true, it probably is" holds true in such cases.

    Thanks

These places which sell counterfeit are invariably located overseas, often in China, although they may have a .co.uk address and they ship the dodgy good to you. I rather doubt that there are any with actual premises and an address near Edinburgh.

i think i have brought a fake set of these clubs. i was told by a friend who uses titliest that there should be a serial number on the 6 iron on inspection i found a number 39926v21 does this have any merit also i was told the clubs were OME ????????

    Hi Wayne,

That is not the format in which our serial numbers appear, so I would have some concerns. Our custom built clubs, i.e. those that are built with different specifications to standard, would have a serial number on the hosel. From what you describe, this would set alarm bells ringing.

Please could you email ip@acushnetgolf.com with details of what you purchased, where you purchased, including any details about where they shipped from?

    Many thanks

    HI Krasimir

Where do you play your golf in BG ?

                                                      Thomas

  9. Thomas, I play mainly at St Sofia Golf Club, just outside of Sofia (the capital of Bulgaria), where I am a member. Very handy for me as it is a 20 min drive from home. Near Sofia (60 km away) is Pravets Golf Club, which is better course to play, however it requires more time to get to. Those two are good if you are in Sofia and around. The best courses though are on the Black Sea coast - lighthouse Golf Club, Black Sea Rama Golf Club and Thracian Cliffs Golf Club. The courses are 50 away from Varna, Bulgaria's second largest city. Thracian Cliffs is the most spectacular and challenging. All of those courses have web sites and you can easily check them out. Thracian Cliffs will host in May the next Volvo World Match Play Championship, so that has to tell a bit of its character. Finally, there is Pirin Golf Club in Bansko, which is quite nice as well. Bansko is Bulgaria's top ski resort. I hope that helps :) Couldn't help myself to do a bit of advertising of my country.  Krasimir

    Krasimir,

I also play my golf in BG i am a member of the Lighthouse course from this year and live in BG near Dobrich

my handicap is 14 and i play with a set of custom fitted titleist irons ,they where done for me in Ireland a few years back but i love them as i can on a good day shape my shots ,

I have been comming to BG since 2001 my first ever visit was to SOFIA in February 2001 and have been comming back to BG twice a year since , and now due to forced retirement live here permanently.

Bulgaria has a lot to offer the golfer or skier or just someone who wishes to relax a slower pace of life,

unfortunately the level of service in some places can be very poor which i tell myself is the fault of the bosses in the big cars that cost more to fill with petrol than they pay thier staff for a month.

I love the place and the people in my village. helpful always.

You are right to promote your country it is a wonderful place.

                                            Thomas

  12. Hi Neil,

Have you had chance to look at the photos yet.

I am in the process of trying to recover my losses but i need to know that these clubs r indeed counterfeit. you also mentioned the serial number being on the hosel as you can c the number is infact on the hosel ?????? i'm still not convinced. AP2 seems a lot bigger then in your photos of original clubs.
I've been informed that i need proof from titleist that these are counterfeit (or not). Would you be able to assist me with this matter.

    Yours Sincerely

    Hi Wayne,

The photos that you have sent to ip@acushnetgolf.com don't come to me, they go to our brand protection team in the US within our legal department. You will receive a response directly from them.

The serial number may well be on the hosel, but it is not in the correct format if it is exactly as you typed it in your original post.

    Best regards
