If you aren't counting the PW, i'd go with 2. Typical PW is 46-48 degrees, then I use a 54 and a 58/60. I rotate the 58 and 60 depending the course I'm playing. I use a 3/4 and a full swing, and dedicate 50% of my practice with wedges. Hard conditions would put ME with a low bounce on them both. Good luck!!......

I have been using the new SM6s since they were released earlier this year. I have been using Vokey wedges in general for the past 8 years. This is the first set of wedges I have had, which presents a huge difference from my previous set. These things are fantastic. The weighting seems perfect.

As far as distances from 115 in, well, that is more determined by your swing abilities and characteristics compared to others, rather than the loft or bounce of the club. However, I can tell you that my new SM6s have given me some extra distance on full swings over my last set of wedges.

If you play in hard conditions all the time, less bounce will be better than more, but you really need to look closely at your short game and the short game conditions on the course when you consider which bounce will be most effective for most situations.

Personally I like having a high bounce for normal or fluffy sand conditions and a lower bounce for harder bunkers and hard pan conditions. I like more bounce for rough. I used to play a very low bounce lob wedge (60.04), but have found that I get more use out of a high bounce, full-soled LW with no real problem using it from tight lies. (I play a 58.12K which I use in most bunkers in addition to many chipping and pitching situations, depending on lie and shot-type needed.)

IMO, getting fit for wedges is the most difficult type of fitting. Wedges are such a personal feel thing. Certainly, if you want the perfect shaft or are concerned about gapping on full swings, then yes, a fitting is recommended. However, unless you can actually be fit, out on the course, where you can try them in all the different types of lies, turf conditions and situations you will typically see on the courses YOU play, to see which work best for your short game style, I'm not sure wedge fitting is all that comprehensive. Driver fittings, yes. Irons, yes. Putters, probably. Wedges, mmmm maybe, for certain, mostly full-swing situations. I just believe, wedges around the green are all about touch and what works for you. The only way to truly feel that is to try them in real life situations to see what works and FEELS best. I wish I could get that kind of a wedge-fitting without having to experience a $2500 (or more) fitting day with Bob Vokey at his fitting facility.

My best advice is to go get fitted for your wedges because they are your scoring club and none of us hit them the same. I do not carry a 60* wedge. I am an Amateur and do not have the skill level for that club. I am 70 years old and carry an 11 handicap. I do play tournament golf but do not feel comfortable with that club in my hands. I have four wedges: SM6 56.14 F Grind, SM6 50.08 F Grind, AP1 W 47*, AP1 PW 43* and I have these dialed in for my yardage. The shafts all match XP105 S300, +1/2", and 2* flat thru my five iron. They are strong but at my age that is a good thing and I can score with them. Feel and confidence in your wedges is important. Again, get fitted, and if you do it will not matter what courses you play, you will score. Cheers, Chuck.......

    Or, I would suggest if your PW is 46* (50* 54* 58*)
    If your PW is 48* (52* 56* 60*)
