All of us have undoubtedly tried many varieties of the Titleist Golf Ball and eventually decided which one we liked the best. The question I have to ask is did we ultimately select the right one for the right reasons? Personally I have settled on the ProV1 during the spring and fall when the weather is cooler and the ProV1x during the summer when the temps are up into the high 20's. To be fair however, I never really played nearly as many games with the other models as I have with these two. I know that spin rate and compression have a significant impact on the ball/club performance. Obviously the right ball matched with the right club and swing is important for getting the best performance out of a players round. Has anyone gone for a golf ball fitting ? If so, how did it work out for you, and were you surprised with the final results ? Darius

  2. Great questions and observations Darius. I for one would love to have a Titleist ball fitting. My preferred ball is the Prov1 but it would be interesting to find out if another ball would suit me better.

    Hi Darius & Wendy!

I tried to get in to one of the Titleist ball fittings this summer -- just to go through the experience, etc. Unfortunately, they were so popular that I could not get in! This happened at several courses that were sponsoring the fittings. It's obviously a sign of the popularity and success of the Titleist Golf Ball program.

So, the only ball fitting that I completed was the one that Titleist had prior to the full hands-on fitting with a Titleist rep. It was the one where Titleist had a self assessment form, working from the green backwards to the Tee box. Regardless, I was playing the Pro V1 at the time and after completing the assessment - twice -- I came to the conclusion that the PRO V1x was the better fit for me.
