I mark my ball with two very simple black dots. One on either side of the golf ball just above the letter 'i'. I do this as my little boy was lucky enough to be given a Pro V1 golf ball by Tom Watson at The Open when it was last held at Muirfield. Since then I've copied this way of marking my balls. If it's good enough for Mr Watson, then it's good enough for me!
  3. I mark my ball with a little smiling face. The reason I do this, is because it makes me smile when i look at the ball and gives me confidence even in bad lies. So I don't worry during my round.

I mark a cross on my Titleist for alignment. Only just started doing this after my son was taught it by our local pro. Helped us both tremendously with our putting!

  5. Rather than the traditional dots or lines, I wanted something more creative to mark my balls. I used to use a simple smily face, until I found the same markings on a lost ball. Now I mark all my balls with this evil face. It's highly unlikely I'll find a ball with the same markings.

    Hi.
    I mark my balls with a "4D".
The reason for this is my surname. When I was young my nickname at school was "Fordey".
This has manifested itself to "Fore D" and now shortened to "4D".

That is my reason, or as someone once said to me, my golf is now from another dimension. Lol.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to explain how I mark my golf balls.

Unfortunately, Wentworth is too far away from myself to travel (I live in Scotland), so i am refraining from entering the competition, so that someone closer to the venue can win.

Good luck to everyone that enters the competition, as it sounds like an absolutely prize and experience.

  9. As I aspire to go low each round with my Titleist,I still lack the consistency of stroke play. Some days it feels like I have a variety of munchkins taking my shots on the course. Therefore a tag/mark idea was created.

I've always marked my ball using a smiley face around the number, so when things aren't going too well, at least the #1 ball in golf is smiling back at me.

I mark my PRO V1 with a little ladybird, inspired by my baby girls. Hopefully she brings me luck on my Titleist golf ball and doesn't flutter away during a round of golf. #TeamTitleist

As being from Northern Ireland I've always marked my ball Red White and Blue after the Union Jack. The shamrock is for luck and not to offend others.

  18. I mark my Pro V1's with a four leaf clover on top as I am part Irish and for luck and with the initials of my wife and two boys on the bottom. I have been doing this for about 2 years as it is what my eldest, then 5, chose for me and it has and will stay the same from then. #family
