Received my test golf balls with the red #1. Assuming they are proto type Pro V1x which is the ball that I use, it made for a fair comparison. As for distance, there did not appear to be any enhancement in that regard. Feel was again no significant difference off of driver or irons. Putting wise I might be imagining it but I thought the feel was slightly softer, somewhat closer to the Pro V.

I live in Minneapolis, MN and just played two rounds with the red Prototype ball. I assume, since I normally play the Pro V1x, that this test ball is it's equivalent. I liked the ball just fine but comparing this ball to my regular Pro V1x is difficult due the extreme change in weather we just experienced. A week ago sunny and 70, during my tests, 50 cloudy, windy, and mist. Since I tested during actual rounds I didn't have the opportunity to hit both balls from everywhere. I did take an additional shot a couple times but a 9 handicap hits each shot different than the previous shot. Send me test balls in September and I can have a far better opinion.., The good news is I've played 2 full rounds with the test balls and only lost one. So the test goes on
  3. Great thoughts. I was planning to experiment with the current prov1x but the weather has changed to colder temps so the comparison with prov1 will have to wait, in the meantime the nxt tour s will be in the bag

I received the sleeve of Black 8's to test on Nov. 3rd. The weather in Michigan is getting cooler, but golfing is still happening! I have played them for the last 3 rounds they act the same as the prior years of Pro V's that I have played, they do seem to be a little more resilient (don't seem to scuff as easily as prior generations) So I'm thinking they are Pro V's and not NXT versions.
