I currently use 712 MB's and have done for the past 4 years, and also own 714 AP2's but don't like them as much as my MB's. I was wondering if anyone knows of any good club re finishing companies I could use to get the faces and grooves refinished?

I have done a fair amount of experimental refinishing myself (several years as an Assistant Pro) but want these done properly. I will be re shafting them myself but the heads are a priority.

I am not opposed to buying a set of 716MB's but would love to carry on using my 712's if possible. There is little difference other than the finish on the new ones but I would love to carry one with my old irons for a little longer before I retire them.

    Any thoughts?

The 716 MB's are exquisite! :). If you insist, though, perhaps discuss with a club maker about sharpening the grooves and perhaps go to a chrome shop to see if they can refinish them (I am assuming that they are chrome finished).

There probably are some specialty refinishing shops out there ... hopefully someone on TT will know of one. Good luck ...and would like to hear about your experience as it could prove useful to me and others in the future!

If the groves are worn I'd say there done! Refinishing and regroving them they will no longer conform to USGA guidelines.

These things have seen some serious range and course time over the years. I always kept them clean and the soles have minimal marking but the faces are almost all worn.

I have put my AP2's in the bag for now, I think the 716mb's are the best option.
