  1. Hello! Currently I play the Titleist 755 Forged irons that are roughly 7-8 years old. I absolutely love these irons, mostly for their feel, but I am deadly accurate from 7 on down. I am looking to upgrade my irons for Xmas but am unsure as to what their successor would be. I would think the 716 AP2 but I wanted to ask before going out and buying new ones since MB and CB have a similar look to my old 755s. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you and happy holidays!

You've got to try them and figure out what you like best. I just got the 716 CBs and I LOVE them.

I switched from the 755 Forged, which I loved, to AP2 712s back when they came out in 2011. I recently upgraded to AP2 716s. Both AP2 sets are more forgiving than the 755s, yet are much more of a players club. The CBs are a bit less forgiving. No matter what, get fit, but if possible, try to demo them on the course too. I am sure you will love them.

The 755s brought me from a mid-capper in my mid-50s, down to an 11.5 index. The AP2 712s helped me get under 10. The new AP2 716s, which I have had since their release in October '15, have helped to further reduce my cap another 2 pts in the last year. Now over 60 (kills me to say that), I have been playing some decent golf lately, but more importantly, my iron ballstriking is better than it has ever been.

I had the same issue last year, got my new sticks in January of this year . Never looked back, they are the AP1's. Good luck with your choice, hit um straight, Dave...
