My 913hd 18* has a standard length of 40.5"  I wanted to switch to a different shaft that plays at 40"

From what I have read, I will be changing the swing weight by 3 points.. Is this going to make much of a difference? and if so, should I change the OEM weight to a heavier weight?

    Please let me know ..

    THANK YOU !!

Hi Marty. I'm not a professional fitter, but I do tinker with my clubs at times. If I were you, I would first play or at least go to the range with the shaft you have on now by just gripping a half inch down and comparing it with your normal grip. I would also try half swings, and also full swings in a normal and a slower speed. Hopefully you will feel the difference with the same shaft and then go from there. Hope this helps.

    Hey Marty,

I cut an inch on my 913H and 913F.  yes it does feel a little bit lighter BUT it has helped me swing it a little bit better.  I like having smaller shaft, I tend to have better control at time.. If i had to do it again though I would've started with a 1/2" and go from there....  And no adjustments to the weight...

Now for my driver I cut 3" off.  It was a non-Titleist club and it was just dumb to do, well maybe not that dumb since that allowed me to get the 915 driver...  But the club ended up being too light and ended up giving it to my cousin who enjoyed it more than i did..  And honestly I don't think there was any weight out there that would've made up the difference..  It was that light...

Only downside: need to keep buying a new grip...

Keep us posted on what you decide to do and your results.

    Cheers

Marty, I installed the S+ 82 shaft made for the 3 hybrid into the 913hd 18* and added the blue 11g weight for my son. To me it still felt a lite, maybe D1??? I would recommend the black 14g weight if cutting down 1/2". For me when clubs get a little too light and I have trouble maintaining consistency for others they may have no issue's, personal preference.
