I need to eliminate penalty strokes and improve my driving accuracy.  I figure these issues are costing me 4 shots a round.

    What about you?

I hope to work on my putting. This setback prevents me from scoring as well as I should with the opportunities I have from good approach shots.

My first goal is to always play more enjoyable rounds of golf.  Hopefully I'll be able to take my young daughter with me a couple of times, so that should help make things more enjoyable.  After that I would like to improve my putting and chipping.  I lose too many strokes around the greens.  Lastly, I'd like to be more consistent and play within myself.  I need to recognize sometimes a part of my game isn't working.  When that happens, I need to focus on other parts of my game and limit the damage it can cause.

Most important is to Improve my GIR numbers , if I can get that to in the % 60 range I will see my scores go down.

Then overall just to play more.

Good luck to everyone in reaching their goals  in 2015 !

Same thing here - more or less. My goal is to improve my long game proficiency by at least 10% this year that I'll measure by looking at fairways hit and GIRs from over 150. I will be focusing on other parts of my game as well, but a good long game will help me eliminate penalties for sure.

  6. Working to regain some lost yardage over the past couple of years. Accomplished some off-season weight loss and added in better conditioning, plus got new 915 clubs. Hope this helps to increase ball/club speed. Early work in a simulator shows good progress.

And...will make a conscious effort to work on putts of 5 feet and in. Gotta cut down on missed putts of that length.

Play more golf, play more Titleist!

I am looking to grow the game from Junior Golfers, to Ladies, and Men of all ages though more thoughtful personal interaction on the lesson tee, on course, and off course.

I am sure I am not alone but I love this wonderfully amazing game and just want to share the joy and excitement I feel! There's not a game/sport like golf. There's nothing else like Titleist!

Good luck to everyone with your goals and objective...whether you think you can or think you can't, your right!!!

I would love to lower my handicap. I have been working hard in the off season and will spend more time on short game when we can get outside.

I am working on my approach shots within 130 yards.  For some reason, I can hit the green with long irons and hybrids but have difficulty inside of 130 yards.  Looking forward to seeing how all this range time pays off.

Try to be more consistent with my driver and irons and hitting them with good contact..  I need to keep myself in play if I want to go low..  Can't be all over place trying to get up and down..

Also I need to have more fun on the course and not worry about what other people think about my game..   When I start worrying, my game tends to go downhill and i'm not having fun...  I need to learn how to relax and just have fun...

Short game, Short game, Short game. Needs good work! I bought the PSP training aid last year and my ball contact has improved a lot! watched some videos online and noticed that you can use it for the short game as well. can't wait to get out and use the chipping facilities my course offers. by the end of the season Id like to have a degree in Divot designing!

    Play well

Currently at an 11 hdcp and want to get into single digits by end of the year. Better putting is key along with hitting irons closer to pin. Also need to get it outta my head that I don't need to go for it every single time (thought that would ease with age but so far not at all haha.)

play more...in good health.  i suffered from a bad case of lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow) and only played 27 holes all last season (in pain for most of it). oh, and the wife even said i could play in both my wednesday league and on the weekends :)

    have a good season everyone!

My first objective this year is to have a good enough game to play in the Ohio Senior Amateur in August.  This will require that I have below a 7.4 Handicap index by about June, right now my trend is indicating that by next revision in April I'll have the handicap to get in the competition so I'll just need to maintain my game.

At age 67 my distance off the tee has dropped.  I'm ok with the loss of distance so my objective is to hit more fairways, right now I'm hitting 71% and I hope to get my percent of Fairways Hit above 75% by end of April.  Even when I miss a fairway it usually isn't a bad miss, I'm not going deep woods, or catching too many fairway bunkers.  From the senior tee's I'm generally getting inside the 150's, so driving can be improved but is not a critical problem right now.

My greens in regulation is currently at 45% but trending up.  The greens that I do hit I'm leaving myself putts that are too long to give me good chances for birdies.  So getting more accurate with iron play is a must.  The goal is to hit 80% or better GIR from inside the 150 and to stop the ball within 15 feet.  I've got a lot of work to do to meet this objective.

I've hired a young pro to help me meet these objectives.  So hopefully I'll get into some competitive golf this year, that's the goal.

My goals for this year is to improve my driving the ball off the tee. I hope to increase distance and accuracy, setting up more opportunities for easier approach shots, resulting in more birdies. Secondly, improve my chipping and pitching to save par.

My goal is to lower my handicap.  I'm decent with my wedge shots into the green but I have to make my shots more consistently closer to create easier putts!!  Improving the short game will continue to be my goal!!

I am very consistent (not really long) off the tee and my short game is well above average. It's the 2nd and 3rd shots that cost my extra strokes. My goal this year is to find more consistent ball striking with the mid and longer irons, and drop that extra 5-6 strokes a round from poor iron play. Need more practice time: gee don't we all?

Internalize disgust with poor shots and practice short game more. Aah, fall in love with short game again.

Fairways in regulation. I tuned my iron game and really improved my short game last year to get down to a 3, now I want to pick up where I left off and keep the ball in the short grass from the tee. If I can do that I can easily see myself playing great golf and really continuing to enjoy the game.

    Strike them well, TT!

I purchased three Vokey wedges last season and hoping to sharpen my short game in 2015. In my Jr. Golf & college days I was deadly around the greens, but I'm 20 years older and who knows how many pounds heavier, so the short game needs some work.

My goal is to play more. And also to keep my head in the game. I tend to get flustered over bad shots. Which in return throws me off for a couple of holes. Keep my head play more.

Recorded my 13'th round of the new year yesterday and all of them on cold, wet, windy conditions. My handicap has dropped from a 9.3 to a 11.5. This has been an unkind winter for Arkansas golf. My short game has suffered the most and I continue to work on my chipping, 20 to 50 yard pitches and putting. My green side bunker play is good as I got up and down yesterday two out three times. My chipping is starting to come around as over the winter I have forgotten to use my body to dictate distance and the same with the pitching. All arms does not work. My long game is good. Just need some warm, dry days to make golf more enjoyable and to start a downward trend for my handicap. My goal is to get back to a single digit handicap index.

Well, 2015 will be a tough year here. Last year, every shot I took came with pain. I've pushed through it, assuming it was just age, over the last 5 years but last year pretty much was the end of it. Woke up Christmas morning with no feeling in the right arm. Came to find, after many appointments, that I had 2 bone spurs on my spine that were crushing my nerve and impacting my spinal cord (C4, C5, C6 - Neck). Good to know but bad to have. I finally received surgery on 3/6 that ended up being some grinding, disc removal, titanium additions, and fusing of the C4/5/&6. I've been in a neck brace for 3 weeks and ready to start rehab next week. So, as most, I am extremely excited to get back to the grass (Michigan Native here) but may be a slow start. I was told that it shouldn't affect the game. I am looking at it as a "tune up" (since I turned 50 this year and got the AARP Card). Plus, I am expecting to pick up at least 30 yards off the tee with the Titanium addition. That's how it works right? LOL, thanks for reading and I am anxious for this years updates as we all are. Good Health to all. And please, take care of yourselves for the better of Your Game.

Mine is certainly putting -- so wildly inconsistent that even when I get a 6 footer that I know is dead straight -- I'm only making 50% of them. Frustrating to leave the ball on the right side of the cup and still miss the putt.

DefInetly short game, and get this new 915 driver dialed in and improve my FIR percentage. But my biggest goal is to help my grandson shape his game and help build his confidence. He's on the high school team as a freshmen and is a little intimidated by the older players.

Hitting 70's consistently! I have been working on my swing indoors for Feb and Mar with my instructor. Feels great and i have learned more in 8 weeks than i did over the last 2 years. I don't expect to shoot lights out right away, but I really feel like if i could hit low 80's last year with what i had, this year should be a much easier for me to go lower. All that aside, I will have fun, not get rattled by poor shots, and get my 6 year old out as much as possible!!
