For those of us in New England and hate to say this, our season is almost done.   As I’m driving to work this morning I saw the outside temp at 38 degrees so that got me thinking...

    I started thinking about my summer.  I thought last year was a lot of fun but this summer definitely topped it.   Here are a few highlights;

    1. Got my first hole in one in a member/guest tournament with Josh aka Hotsauce and Mike D.  What a thrill that was and a moment I’ll never forget.  I did receive my Titleist hole in one bag tag and it's hanging with pride at home.
    2. Played TPC Boston and River Highland a few times.   What a treat to play those courses w/ some great guys (Josh G., Chris Hatem CT) and looking forward to hitting them again next summer.
    3. Broke 80 twice.  This was one of my goals this year; break 80 at least once.  I don’t get to practice often and when I get the chance to play, I rather hit the links than the range.  I was able to break 80 twice, sure felt good.  Looking for the next one.
    4. The chance to meet Jordan Speith and Zach Johnson during a Titleist shoot.  It was a quick meet/greet but I can’t begin to tell you how nice they were.  True professionals and it was a lot of fun watching them hit balls during the shoot.  Their swing is absolutely beautiful to watch; flawless and so damn smooth…   Thanks to the Team Titleist staff for such a great day.
    5. Played in my first 3 day member/guest tournament.  I didn’t play well but it was a fun experience and hope to do it again next year.
    6. Got picked for the Team Titleist Spotlight.
    7. Played in the Team Titleist Invitational @ TPC Boston.  Just an awesome day with some great people.
    8. Finally got on the waiting list at Portsmouth CC.  It’s my home course and cannot wait to be a member there someday.  Someday I would love to host a TT event at Portsmouth and would love for you guys to come up.
    9. Did a lot of gambling (small money) this summer on the course and lost a lot but it taught me a few good things; know your limits and play smart.
    10. Last but not least.  One of my big goals this summer was just to have more fun on the course and I think I managed to do that.   It’s amazing how well you can play when you’re more relaxed and just having fun.

I’m sure they’ll be more highlights after this weekend though; Saturday playing in Josh’s aka Hotsauce tournament at his home course and really looking forward to that and Sunday playing in my first Cameron Collectors tournament down in Easton, MA.   I’m definitely going out with a bang :).

Would love to hear from Team Titleist; Any highlights from this summer?  Were your goals accomplished? Good stories on the course?  Please share...

I hope everyone (for those that have the short New England season) had a great summer.  All the best!

Sounds highly productive! Congrats on the ace.

This season my goal was to get back to playing regularly (the last few years I've graduated college, moved, gotten married, moved again) since I haven't had time and I managed to find a new home course and broke 90 for the first time. Not a bad season by any means! My wife is starting to get into golf a little so next year my goal is to get her going and break 85. Of course, here in Texas I have another month or so left of the season.

Highlight/best story of the season was I got to play golf with my dad for the first time in about 4 or 5 years. We had a great time.

my season had a few highlights and hopefully more to come. I'm in the Philly area and our season is quickly coming to a close, too. 1. While I didn't break 80 this year (or ever), I did take a few lessons that have put me on the road to doing so soon after struggling most of the season with pull-hooks. 2. had the opportunity to play 10+ new courses this season. The highlights were Atlantic City CC, Old Course at Saucon Valley, TPC Boston & River Highland & Myrtle Beach. 3. Got to play Bethpage Black again! 4. after playing TPC Boston, had the opportunity to get a fitting at Manchester Lane 5. FINALLY ordered new clubs (716s, 816s, etc.). my irons are 14 years old. I had a very underwhelming golf season.  Work and family just took too much of my time.  However, I did start the season with a weekend buddies trip (weather was terrible, but it was fun anyway).  Now I'm ending the season the best way possible, playing my first round with my daughter.  She made it through 18 holes and had a blast.  The only problem now is explaining to her that she can't go with me every time.

Hopefully I'll still be able to get a few more rounds in until the weather really turns cold for the winter.  And if I can get enough interest, I'm hoping to get together with some other TT members for a late season round.

I didn't have my best year but I feel as though I'm putting a lot together.

I did get a chance to go to the Manchester lane facility and get a full bag fitting and ordered an entire new set of clubs.

    Next year is the year.

Chris, awesome season, I shared a lot of the same moments with you and the TT  guys!  TPC Boston was awesome a full day of golf, Titleist, and some golf ball R&D which I am very interested in.  As for my swing, I have managed to tighten it up a little more (not completely there yet) and make it more efficient.  I got rid of some ugly "run on" at the top of my swing.  For those who arent complete golf nerds, run on is when your arms continue to swing back after your shoulders have stopped turning.  HotSauce's tourney was yesterday and it was really a great one.  Cool course and even cooler group of guys from TT.  I hope that next year can top this one!  Cheers to TT for a great season and lets keep growing for next year.  I want to become more involved next year by hosting a TT event or maybe co-hosting one with the other fella with my name!

We still have at least a few very good weeks remaining in the St Louis, go Cards, area with a.m. temps in the high 40's.

Retired March 30th and have played more this year since college...and it has been a blast!

Got my 4th ACE a few weeks ago and have been on a roll with my Vokey 58* helping save some solid scores in the low 70's.

Played a few tourneys winning two, second in another and an also ran - scrambles.

We're just starting to get a lot of color in the hills around Aberdeen GC and daytime temps have been awesome, low 70's, high 60's...best time of the year to play with greens running a little quicker, great course conditions and virtually every day perfect for playing.

We try to play year round here and we're hoping for a mild winter. Keep a good pair of winter shoes and get out the cool weather gear...don't ever just stop playing unless it's too cold or snow covered!

My highlights so far would have to be breaking 90 2 rounds in a row and setting a new personal best (85). Hoping to have some more highlights with my final round of the year in Vegas at the end of the month!

The water has finally gone down in Charleston and the course has opened and we started playing golf again.  Got to go to Nova Scotia with FootJoy in September to play Cabot Cliffs which will be open in 2016.  The weather here is wonderful and are over seeded greens are growing and hopefully they can cut them low enough that we can actually get the ball to the hole.  After all the rain we have had we will putt on anything to get out of the house.  Our fall golf season is just beginning which is the best time of the year and winter golf in the lowcountry, well, about four to six weeks, maybe.  Had not played in about two weeks and shot 80 with a triple boogie.  On a par three.  Give me a break.  Have been trying out the TruSoft on the wet course and slow greens. Very good ball.  Gonna enjoy this week, leaving for Hawaii on Monday.  This is a no golf trip.  Am retired and I am fortunate to be able to play where and whenever I choose, so choose to spend time with my wife on this trip.  The Nova Scotia trip made up for it. When we get back gotta practice for the Men's Senior City Amateur.  Season not over for us, the best is just beginning.

Several of the highlights of my quickly ending golf season:

    • Volunteered and attended the PGA at Whistling Straits
    • Tour of the Titleist Tour Van
    • Getting an early peak and fitting of the 716 irons and 816 hybrids at the regional Staff Professional fitting event
    • My recently completed trip to Bandon Dunes
      • Played Bandon Dunes, Pacific Trails, Old MacDonald and Bandon Trails
      • Looking forward to a return visit. Spectacular courses and even better views.
    • Trying to plan and sneak in one more golf trip before the calendar rolls over to 2016.

From a quantity and quality of play standpoint, this wasn't one of my better years. I had a late start and just never had the time to devote to practice and batten down the hatches. But the season was not without its highlights. I was also fortunate enough to enjoy the day at TPC Boston with Team Titleist and the Titleist golf ball R&D guys. That was such a fantastic experience that I'll never forget. I also made my first journey down to Myrtle Beach for the World Amateur tournament. What a blast that was. I regret missing out on the TT New England outing at Josh's joint, but I do look forward to the next chance to play with Josh, Chris and Chris, Mike, Andy and the rest of the Team Titleist community.
