Nomura Outlasts Kerr in Marathon Texas Shootout Playoff

"I'm here in Texas. I want to have a steak."

These were the victory celebration plans shared by Titleist golf ball loyalist Haru Nomura (Pro V1x), shortly after she prevailed in an all-Titleist marathon playoff to win the Volunteers of America Texas Shootout.

Nomura two-putted for birdie on the sixth extra hole to top fellow Titleist golf ball loyalist Cristie Kerr (Pro V1).

It marked the third career LPGA Tour title for the 24-year old, who also birdied the par-5 18th hole at the end of regulation to force the playoff.

Kerr and Nomura finished regulation at 3-under-par 281, then played the 518-yard 18th six more times, with five matching pars before Nomura finally won nearly 7 1/2 hours after starting her round.

Kerr was trying to win consecutive tournaments after winning in Hawaii two weeks ago.

Each of the top four finishers, including Jessica Korda (3rd/Pro V1) and Sung Hyun Park (4th/Pro V1x) relied upon a Titleist golf ball for their success.

In fact, Titleist golf ball loyalists accounted for 11 of the 12 players who finished among the top 10 and ties.

Congratulations, Haru!
