First ill ask what glove size they wear, and if they like it/feel comfortable with the grip size they play. Just had a fitting yesterday where the golfer was striking it great but between all the shots he averaged somewhere around 5-7 degrees closed face. Path relatively neutral but could swing one at 2 degrees left or 4 degrees right. That is where I will not touch lie angle as the shot is not consistent enough for me to manipulate face at impact. He was in standard grips but I gave him midsize plus 4 and we talked about grip pressure and bam as simple as that he started hitting straight balls with square face. Sometimes its more simple than we think but this game can make you crazy. He wore a L glove so I knew the convo was worth having.

Forum Post: RE: Hole in One

Awesome! I just got fit into a traditional GTS2 3 wood at 15 degrees. Despite loving the 3tour it is a bit too strong and its running out just a bit too much for me. I have it on a Diamana RB and saw some spin increase on the GTS2 paired with a Tour AD FI so I'm really excited to try that out. Theres always a decision to make where the larger gap is going to be in your bag, for me personally, I didnt need such a small gap between driver and 3. So ill be gaming this new 3 wood with a GTS2 7 wood which gives me a pretty good gap for the numbers/shots that I find myself needing to hit.

Forum Post: RE: Hole In One

Awesome! Normally they go fast but this fitting took an hour at a minimum. I would never consider the 4 in past models but they said around 20% were going into 4 this go around. It wasn't for me but I did actually hit it in the fitting whereas in the past it was a unicorn not even worth picking up to waggle. As for shaping the 3 and 4 looked pretty much similar. The 4 is 460 cc this time not 440 cc as in the past. I ended up going with a 3. The feel/ sound in the GTS is more of a solid sound not as much metal/ png sound if that makes any sense. I hit a couple off the toe and my ball speed was the same as when it was in the center which kind of shocked me. The silver face of the fairways is new to get used to but I can't stress enough how excellent the new fairways sit on the ground. They don't sit closed they just sit so flush it gives a ton of confidence to you.

Forum Post: RE: Hole in one

Well done mate - I had my first 1 yesterday at Thornhill, Scotland - still on cloud 9!!!

Forum Post: Hole in One at Thornhill Golf Club

Playing in the annual Tayleur Cup, at Thornhill Goof Club in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland 147 yards with a 7 iron (Titleist T100s) as it was in the air, I jokingly said “that’s a thing of beauty”, it bounced twice and ran about 6feet into the hole - Ingot the shock of my life!! The hole was playing 121 with a light breeze from left to right. I was between clubs and took a little more and set up for a fade. Hit the tee shot high and it bounced gently left of the hole and spun to the right and we all watched it track to the hole and drop it. Glad I had insurance! This was my first hole in one.

Forum Post: RE: Scratches on Phantom 9R from Headcover

That usually happens when sand from sanded greens are on the bottom of your putter and you don't wipe it before sticking in the head cover.

Forum Post: RE: New Titleist GTS Drivers: What has you most excited to try it?

So excited to get to try this absolute beast of a driver! In casual round or just practicing I use a ball that may have been played 2 or three rounds. After that they are used for chipping and putting practice. When they finally get dull they go into the golf closet for some unknown reason. Maybe to give to the grandsons when they can appreciate what they were given and are good enough to not lose all of them in one round.
