  • It Really Happened

    Magic moment happened on the 7th hole on Charleston National back on November 5th. Surreal moment watching the ball disappear as playing partners cheered. Hope I'm lucky to experience it again (and again).

    Today I made a hole-in-one at Granite Bay country club in Granite in California on hole 14. The hole was 185 yards uphill and I hit a five iron with a title is ball number eight.

  • Not hole-in-one but Double Eagle

    Holed second shot on par 5 number 14 at Ol Colony Golf Complex in Tuscaloosa, AL on December 7th 2022. Hit second shot with Titleist TSi3 hybrid and a Titleist Pro V1X ball from 212 yards. Witnesses, Robbie Lennnord, Jonty Skinner and Gundi.

  • RE: Golf during winter?

    An indoor simulator just opened up in my town so I will likely hit that up a few times over the winter, or at the very least right before the spring. We also go the Georgia in March so I could get a round or two in there.

    There's little or no trailing edge on the S grind. Dale may have a point; the D or M grind might be better, given the firm conditions.

    Hogan started his club company in 1953, so, if those clubs are from the 40s, they could be a Ben Hogan model made by another company. If they were made by Macgregor, I would think the branding would be more conspicuous than a M.

    Heard it said that the key to being a successful putter is to deliver the putter head with the right energy at impact and the club face pointing in the right direction and do that consistently well. Makes sense to me. Consistency. Sounds like you go…
