Does anyone else swap or rotate their putters in and out of the bag because of course type/conditions/weather? I currently have 3 Scotty's that periodically find their way in and out. I'm currently gaming a Circa 62 no.3 (35" with what I've been told was a limited edition kangaroo leather grip?). I've also been using a DB6M during the winter as it gave a bit of a better roll on my clubs greens. My 'go to' when I'm not feeling quite as confident is a 2014 select fastback (34"). I've never found that any one of them makes me any worse a putter, they all have different feels and appeals to me at different points but I've never felt the need to persist with one of them if I was struggling.

What do others out there do? Stick or twist?

I do the same thing. I also have 3 Scotty's (2005 Futura Phantom Mallet, 2014 Select Roundback and 2016 Futura X5R). I tend to use my round back in the winter and early spring when the greens are slow and then go with either my Futura Phantom or X5R once the greens speed up, depending on which is cooperating the most.

Makes sense to me. In the winter with wet lumpy greens, I use a GoLo that’s pretty heavy and in the summer I go to the Newport 2.5.

I am also a switcher, always looking for the next best feeling. Mostly they hold up for a few weeks. I figure I might need to go get a putter fitting:).

I rotate between two 009's, when one gets sent into for refinishing, theater gets into pay!

Nope. Always use "Butters" my Napa. Nothing remotely feels the same.

  8. I have to rotate to continue to appreciate the feel of the putter. I grab my vintage putter once a month just so I remember just how spoiled I am!

I have a Newport 2 Select 35" 10gm that I use on fast greens and a Newport 2 Notchback Select 35" 15gm that I use on slower grainy greens. The Notchback is my favorite and will sometimes just change the weights and put in the 10gm weights for fasters greens.

I sold the Newport 2 Select 35" 10gm to my brother-in-law yesterday when he was in town visiting from Memphis, so he could have a second Scotty. I had picked up another Newport 2 Notchback Select 35" 15gm about a month ago.
I have the black and the chrome version. I really like the Notchback set up and last season was their last year of production. Both have the GolfPride Tour SNSR 104CC Contour Grips. They give me a nice gentle feel over the putts.

My favorite is a Scotty Red X. Love it. When it get into bad habits, I go to my Scotty California Del Mar. Both are the same weight, same grip, same length shaft, and basically mallets. I like the soft feel of the Red X the best, but go to the Del Mar when I start getting bad thoughts sinking in, as I set up a slightly different way and usually clear things up to go back. Otherwise if I'm playing at a "hayfield" with really long greens I may take the Del Mar instead of the softer feel.

I have 3 scottys....one for slow greens (Monterey with 20gram weights). A Circa 62 for father greens...and a studio design 1 for grease lighting courses. It's also good to switch up when I have a bad putting round as well. Smart play if you have the ability to...putters are the prettiest of all the clubs and hold value way better.
  13. I switch to lighter putters with fast greens and heavier when they are slow. I also put the occasional putter in punishment when I've been putting poorly.

Have two putters that I will switch on and off, both Pings. One is a Scottsdale Anser made of beryllium bronze and fairly heavy the other is an Anser 4 and much lighter. The bb is good for slow situations and the other faster greens. They have the same profile.
  15. I am considering another Scotty and would like to switch back and forth from a mallet Futura X5R to a bladed style Scotty, but am having a hard time pulling the trigger as I think I would end up just playing my new putter all the time.

I was rotating my putter about 5 years ago and then I switched to a putter that i Liked the fell and weight and have not switched ever since.

I switch as well. For the majority of the year I use my Newport 2.5 with dual 40 gram weights. During overseed (early Fall here in AZ), I use a Detour . I am investigating moving to a Futura 6M. If anyone has any feedback on this I’m all ears. I want to avoid developing a “hit” instead of “roll” stroke at all costs.

I have a Futura X I use when the greens are slow or dormant. My Button Back is my go-to in the summer when the greens are rolling out. I will say that I won’t hesitate to throw the Futura back in the bag if my putting stroke feels out of sync.

I’m old school and use what works all the time. I still putt with the same custom 009 Scotty made for me about ten years ago. 35/330g in beautiful Pro Platinum. This putter has everything I asked Scotty for and more.

When you own something like this, it is difficult to stash it away, no way!

I'll sometimes change the weights in my Scotty Select if i know the greens are going to be quicker

On rare occasions, my Scotty goes in a dark place and is replaced by a brand from another competitor just to make Scotty mad. Seriously, I do change putters to a mallet with multiple aiming lines when I get out of balance and can't get lined up, but I go back to Scotty ASAP.

I rotate between 2013 Select Newport 2 and Futura 5mb. For the most part there isn't a particular reason. I just want to rotate. I tend to use the F5mb when the greens here in socal are punch.
