  1. I have an Acushnet Designed By John Reuter Jr. Bulls Eye putter with OS 5 A stamps.

Does anyone have any idea of the year(s) of production for this putter?

    Thanks

Probably late 60s or early 70s. Value about $9.

The Bulls Eye putter was designed around 1940 and the rights to the name and design were sold to Acushnet in 1958 so I would guess this produced between 1958 and late 1960's. The OS is for "Old Standard" and along with the Standard, Standard Flange and Pre Acushnet models appear to have the greatest collector and playability interest. The 5 indicates a length of 35"- I don't see any reference to what the "A" stands for.

I have one I bought in late 1968 that says, Std - M - 5 - S on the bottom. When I checked on line for possible price, I came up with much the same as Chuck did. I also have two others, one a 5-C and one that says "Heavy Blade".

Mine has the lettering LB-M-6-S and the original leather grip on it. These are nice wall ornaments, but still have a great feel on fast greens.
  7. Thanks everyone for your help - I have been putting together clubs for vintage bags so it looks like this will be a good putter for my 60s bag! It may have to compete with a png Karsten I have though!!
  8. Anyone have value information on my Acushnet HB- 5 - P? I can find other bulls eye putters on auction sites but not this one.
