So I picked up a used set of 716 CB and was told they were set up as standard loft/lie. Knowing sometimes soft forged irons can bend out of spec I took that info with a grain of salt figuring I would have them all checked anyway. Upon receiving them, I had a couple range trips and one round. Although they were performing well, I could tell something was off. Took them in to my local shop to find out they were all 1-2 degrees flat and he proceeded bend them back to stock lie angles, plus a degree strong at my request. Got them back, shot the best round of my life the very next time out, too.... I was chipping around in the backyard yesterday when I noticed something on the 5 iron I thought was just grass or hair or whatever... turns out it's completely cracked at the back of the hosel. All the others (4-P) are fine, just the 5. I know this happens from time to time especially when bending cast irons but I figured these would at least hold up to a degree or 2... Anyone have this happen? Just a bad casting possibly? Is this something Titleist stands behind or is this more on the shop to correct? Thanks in advance for any info.
