Wow! Those are in great shape! I think those irons are one of the precursors to the MB model. Those woods might have been the last model tour block persimmon. I would guess those clubs are from early to mid 80’s during the transition to metal woods. Wouldn’t it be fun to have a tournament and make everyone play some classic clubs like those!

What a treasure find for you! A terrific looking set of clubs. When I was younger, I would have loved to have a set of those in my bag! I cannot tell from the photo ... but they look like they are stamped as "Forged" too ... and that would be a huge plus!

When I was a kid, my first set of irons were a set of "cast" blades ... all I have to do is close my eyes and I can still feel the jolting pain in my wrists from a mishit with those. What I would have loved for the feel of forged! :)

Those are sweet! In NorCal there's a yearly Hickory Classic on the Monterey Peninsula.

Looking at previous iron models under clubs above the last similar model shown is the 1979-1980 Tour model- yours may be a prior model. I would mount the clubs on a wall (the woods in particular) and hopefully they will be viewed for generations.

Beautiful set in great condition. These remind me of working the bag room of the local country club as a kid. Hold on to them. They would look great leaning against the wall in my office.

Beautiful ! I don't think I would want to go back to using them, but the look of real wood is so much better looking.
  15. I too have a set of forged titleist irons from 1982.1 iron to sand wedge.i played blade irons until I got my 714 ap2 irons.those were the days of persimmon, balata balls, and shot making.i miss those days.ive played with Wilson staffs, mcgreggor, cleveland, bridgestone, hogans,. Now,the ap1s suit my game
  16. Those are absolutely gorgeous. Very envious and those are a great find. Would love to hit a few off the screws of that driver. Great find.

Can't beat persimmons for beauty. Different game back then but. So glad I learned that way. I kept the great ones and usually play them a few times a year.
