I’m just itching to get my out on the course to play once the snow melts. Also, I am still searching for the perfect set of irons. I have previously played the png G30s which I have gone back to since I am not happy with the TM P770 clubs I have purchased recently. I am going to get fitted for sure, but I am looking for something that has enough forgiveness for those off days with the other possibility of workability as I improve my game.

  2. Megan,
I'd be interested to hear what you think of the AP3. AP3 gives me workability and forgiveness, in a really sharp looking profile. I was fitted in October and I have truly loved them ever since.

AP2 or AP3 or CB. If you go for a Titleist fitting they will be able to give you a lot of help with your decision. I can't say enough good things about my fitting earlier this year.

I am also wondering thoughts on having a club champion fitting. I am a 10 handicap if that helps anyone.

Megan, check out the Titleist Thursdays in your area.

You may love your pngs 630s but you may find another set of irons which are better. It's good to do research on what you feel comfortable with and what you don't. Good luck!!

With clubs heads of AP1, AP3, AP2, CB, MB, and T-MB, a very good fitter can find a head, shaft, and swing weight that will dial you in. I'm not a personal fan of indoor fittings off of plastic - you don't get the feel of turf interaction and see the full flight pattern. Mats just launch higher than the real thing and you're asking a Trackman to do more estimating of the ball fight than when outdoors. I'm am biased to Titleist Thursdays or the Advanced/Regional Fitting centers. The fitting is tailored to how I swing and there is no incentive to fit me to a stock set - or have a corporate bias to promote a brand for incentive discounts. As for a recommendation based on handicap - there is no strong correlation. You may prefer the look of the CB/AP2, but if you are going to score better with the AP3, what's not to love?
  7. I just got a set of AP3's custom fitted and love them. I am a higher handicap and have had some of my best scores ever with them. the AP1's are nice too. Go to a fitter and try them both because you can't go wrong with Titleist!

Ap2s are awesome. Definitely get fit. Visual is important too. They look great from the top line. Not too big of a head. Resembles the cbs. More forgiving. if your a 10 you are looking for workability as well as forgiveness you will get that out of these.
  9. It’s been stated before, if you’re looking for forgiveness and workability, try the AP3. It’s the perfect club for both things you’re looking for
