I read somewhere that the larger grips called "JumboMax" are supposed

Re: Over Sized Grips "JumboMax"

The jury is in....

After switching the balance of my clubs to the larger grips and playing a number of rounds, I can now say that they have certainly assisted with the pain management of my left arm tennis elbow.

What I am most pleased about is that I have actually gained more control over shaping my shots. When I switched to the larger grips, I thought I would lose the ability to work the ball, but in actual fact it has helped me draw and fade the ball with my driver as well as with my irons. One thing I always struggled with was drawing the ball on command (I normally hit a natural fade) but with my new larger grips I have been able to play a controlled hook out of the woods when I really needed it. SOmething I could not do in the past. Okay - I was in the woods which means I still miss fairways when I make a bad swing, but that s not the grip but more the gripper.

It is possible that I could have reached similar results with larger grips with multiple wraps, but the key for me is the fact that I have played a number of rounds now, and my elbow is holding up.

For those who go with measurements, my middle finger on the left hand is 3 7/8" from the web to the tip. The tip of the finger is 8 3/8" from the dominant crease of the wrist.

I took the three clubs I had re-gripped and played 18 holes today (I am visiting in South Carolina).

After playing 18 holes with only the JumboMax grips (I got the large ones for my hand size) I managed to shoot an 80 and most importantly - my elbow was no worse than it was when I started. This is truly a good sign as I did play a couple of days earlier with my regular grips, and found that I did experience pain with almost every swing.

I will get the others done now, and will provide an update on how it affect my ability to control the ball flight when I can use all my clubs. It will be interesting to see if I can still manage to draw and fade as needed.

My husband suffered from the same thing last year. He used one of those straps for his forearm but also switched all his sticks over to the fat grips.....right from driver to lob wedge. It helped him immensely. He said there was next to nothing for pain as he didn't have to grip as tight and his accuracy was much improved as a result.

I hope they help you as much as they helped him. Let us know how you like them.
