    Hey Team Titleist,

Following up on last week's Quick Poll, we want to dive a little deeper into an aspect of golf ball performance that ranked highly for many Team Titleist members – Consistency. It's a term we use lot when talking about golf balls, but it can mean very different things to different players.

Is it most important for you to have a golf ball that flies reliable distances every time? Or do you measure consistency around the greens – how predictably your golf ball spins, checks and rolls out on chips and pitches? Or maybe the golf ball is a variable you don't even want to think about. For you, is consistency knowing that the golf ball you play a month from now is going to perform identically to the one you're teeing up today?

Please let us know how you view consistency in the following quick poll and please add any additional insights you can share in the comments. We look forward to seeing what you think!

When I pull a ball out, whether it's a ball that's seen a round or two already or a ball that's straight out of the box from a new dozen, I expect it to perform the same...period.

I'm from Chicago, lived most of my life in Oklahoma, worked in Hawaii for two years and now live in Colorado. Wind, wind, WIND! The stronger the wind, the more differences between golf balls become apparent. I always evaluate a ball based on how well it handles cross winds and headwinds. Short game is second. Distance a "distant" third.
  4. I chose the short game because I feel that my full swing is not always consistent so the ball will not be that consistent from swing to swing. However, in the short game my swing is far more consistent and so I want the ball to perform the same with each swing so that I have a better chance of scoring.

To me, x3 of those count in terms of consistency...

    1. Accuracy, tight dispersion from one shot to the next. 2. In the short game. 3. Will perform in all types of weather and wind conditions.

For my game, the Titleist Pro V1 is the ball that does the above.

    All of the above.
Actually knowing how that ball will perform shot after shot, and that it can be relied from just out of the box, until it goes to the shaggy bag.

Once I put my blue dot on it, I really don't think about my Titleist ball. I know that it will perform in any circumstance. If it doesn't, it's the Indian, not the arrow. It's a Titleist ball for me period. That's consistency.

I think having the ball react the same day in day out is important. You need to have an idea how the ball will react under all conditions. This is why I play Titleist balls and equiptment.
  10. I want to know that when I pull a ball out of the box it's going to work the same as the ball I just lost on hole 9. I also expect the ball to perform the same on hole 18 as it did on 1 when I put it in play.

Trust and confidence knowing that Titleist has made the #1 ball in golf.
Now all I have to do is strike it the way Titleist meant for me to strike it.

The dictionary says it better than I ever could.

    con·sist·en·cy

    1. conformity in the application of something, typically that which is necessary for the sake of logic, accuracy, or fairness.
    2. the achievement of a level of performance that does not vary greatly in quality over time.

Similar: evenness, steadiness, stability, constancy, regularity, uniformity, lack of change, dependability, reliability

As a part time resident of Hawaii and a full time resident of Las Vegas my ball choice is consistent with the different weather, greens and fairway conditions. I have been playing the DT True Soft for a couple of years and find this ball to meet my expectations fully! However, I have been experimenting with the True Feel prototype and have had mixed results but the jury is still out!

  13. I caddied from age 13 through high school. I was lucky to be in charge of the range when I was 15 years old and the junior pro started working with me that summer. When I was 18 years old, I established a scratch handicap. I always used Titleist golf balls to play in tournaments.
  14. STEADY BODY AND GOOD ROTATION
  15. Knowing the ball is consistent even at any handicap gives you confidence when you put it on the peg.

Consistency to me would account for just about everything on the list, but it is best described to me as the fifth choice: "My golf ball performs and feels the same way from one ball to the next, from one dozen to the next, from one round to the next." It is one of the reasons why each year I am in the Loyalty Program with my order.

Since Titleist was literally founded on the idea of consistency (getting your dentist buddy to x-ray your ball to find out wht your putts are off...), it only makes sense to expect, and demand, consistency from Titleist.
For me, knowing exactly how my Titleist ball will perform every time means everything. Confidence, trust, capability. Every sleeve, every time.
