I agree that proV1 balls has gone up and are very expensive, but it is all relitive to how you play.

Look at your ball per round ratio and budget accordingly.

You will probably find that what you spend on balls won't change much. The better you are the better the ball you can play.

Randy W. That you reside in the Netherlands makes it a little harder to answer from the US. I don’t know that Europe gets the buy 3 get 4 dozen deal. Maybe the UK folks or German folks can suggest options for you. I don’t know if there are retailers in the the UK or EU that sell prior generation balls at a discount.
All tour grade urethane balls will cost more than 2 or 3 piece ionomer balls. Each has the option to decide how much to pay for balls and other equipment. I played Top-Flight rocks while starting due to losing 3-6 balls a round. Also didn’t know a ball is a ball was not true in golf.

Balls are a disposable expense, but investing in lessons and buying the ‘4 for 3’ promo will extend your golf life and decrease the need to buy more.

I generally use the buy3 get 1 promo, but have also used prior generations. Google "prior generation ProV1s" and there a lot of golf supply stores selling for around $10 bucks a box cheaper. And at that price I would rather have ProV's over Chrome soft

It's all relative to everyone's own perspective. Certainly your right to view it this way and move on to another option. For me (and probably a lot of other folks) $85CAD for a green fee that lasts 4 hours and is over versus $85CAD for a box of ProV1x that last me 10+ rounds of golf is a no-brainer. Golf is not a cheap sport but there are ways to be economical about it. Titleist "value" line balls are still good and used clubs and muni courses provide an opportunity to those with tighter budgets. $85CAD will barely fill my gas tank these days. Sad yes, but that's inflation these days.

Still lots of choices. Choose lessons so you loose a lot less ProV's and then the investment for a dozen lasting months instead of weeks makes sense. Eliminate a weekly trip to Starbucks or whatever else you might have as discretionary spending. Purchase prior generation balls or logo overruns. If you decide to go with a different brand of ball, okay, that is a personal choice but don't blame it on anything else and say you had no choice. Sorry if this sounds harsh but we all make financial choices every day. Hope you have success with your game and personally wish you well.

I am not sure I really understood the post. Yes with inflation, rate environments, prices have increased for everything across the board, look at the cost of a dozen eggs let alone balls.

As Dale said, you always have a choice, but remember that you’re posting something about the price of Titleist golf balls on a Titleist site with over 500,000 members. If you’re looking for sympathy, might be tough to find given none of membership has any influence on prices.

Albeit a limited time, the 4 for 3 loyalty option was great. It effectively made a dozen ProV1 $41.25….

You only get what you pay for

If you want the number 1 ball in half be prepared to pay for the quality

Randy, I follow up and checked to see your prices on the Canadian Titleist site and they are C$73 /dozen. That price seemed rather high for a dozen. Ours down here are $55 a dozen, which is the same -/+ a few cents. We have seen a five dollar increase in our balls and most of us jumped on the loyalty program Dale was referring to and believe it was offered up there as well. Premium golf balls by all manufacturers call for and get a premium price. So much there is a shortage in pro shops and retail stores at times. I love hockey and if lived up there I would most likely have an Growler Adult Replica AK Jersey White $159.99 or maybe an CCM Authentic Growlers Jersey $230.00. Would definitely want to support my team. That is how I feel about Titleist golf balls, I would not get the replica jersey I would want the Authentic. Guess that is why I choose Prov1s, I love the feel and the way they play. I am a retired civil servant and work it into my budget. That is what we middle class retirees have to do. With respect.

*** As Dale pointed out Titleist makes balls for every budget. i.e., Tour speed - C$55, Tour Soft - C$50, Velocity - C$40, and TruFeel - C$30.

I would say that the price has not risen any greater than inflation has raised the price of all products. Cost of materials and supply fees have increased significantly and I would not be surprised to find that even with higher prices per box, that the profit margin is slightly lower now. Also remember that the price locks in for the two years until new models are released so this pricing makes you exempt from inflation over the next two years. You can also get the "4 for 3" deal each year. There are also very good Titleist balls at the lower price point if budget becomes more important than maximum performance. I would just say that if a middle class family can go to a sporting event and pay $200+ to watch a game and eat a hot dog, a box of ProV1's are still affordable.

Titleist doesn't control the Canadian economy. It's a product on the shelves, and local economies direct the pricing.
