Do not change irons that often.......started playing golf in 1984 and bought a set of Wlson Staff, upgraded to png Eye Two, then Titleist, then cally, back to Wlson Staff and back to Titleist in May 2014 and upgraded to the new AP2S in Nov 2014......the Pings and first set of Titleist I had for a good many years........if I play well with the clubs and they are still in good shape I normally don't trade a lot.....I bought the new Titleist in 2014 because I liked the feel of the forged club........

My first set of Titleist irons were 690MBs and.... I'm still playing them and quite happy. Although I do get curious to try the newer models like the AP2s. Its hard for me to get a read on other stuff because my irons are set up pretty custom.

Ive got a set of GT tight lies blades that are probably around 6-7 years old, I too work with a limited club budget, and spend my money playing golf, and not on clubs. I have another expensive hobby, and I usually have to choose between them. So for now, I will keep playing with the tight lies, re-groove them this winter and then hit it again next spring.

I just received a new set today. I have never owned titleist irons yet but I would like to have a set of ap2 714s. They look really nice and the reviews are good. After this set wears out or I just get tired of them maybe I will be able to get my first set of titleist. But to answer the question I change clubs regularly for the fun of it. I sell the ones I have then use that money to buy new ones. But the set I have now I plan on keeping for a while.

I have the same. DCI 981's 2-PW. Have you tried getting them regrooved? I love my irons, and don't think I will be getting rid of them anytime soon. I bought them in 2001 and had them custom fit for me. They may not have the bounce they once had, but the ball still flies perfectly off the club face. My say is if you like your clubs keep them, but go to stores like Golfsmith that have indoor ranges for club testing. They also have club fitting people that will diagnose your swing to make sure your getting the club that fits your swing and ball attack. Happy hunting, and keep it in the short grass.

i have the very first set of ap1's and im always fantasizing about getting new irons even though i dont need them. i dont think there is any specific time to switch irons unless the irons you have now are not treating you well golf-game wise.

I may have you all.... I have been playing my Ping Eye 2 (Original Square Grooves) since 1985. Yep, 26 years!!! I am going for a fitting tomorrow for a set of AP1 or AP2, depending on what is recommended. Shot 8 over today with my Pings and hope to see improvements with new irons.

Well Paul, I play a set of DCI 962's which I have had since the mid 90's. I love these clubs but recently have been thinking of upgrading. I got fitted recently and the verdict was a AP1's.

What I really found out was the clubs I currently use still fit my swing.

It is enticing though to upgrade to the newer technology.

Another thought to think about is the groove change at the end of this year. This will probably drive me to a new set before the changes take effect.

I was custom fitted back in the 90's when playing for High School then College, for my DCI 962's. I am NOT embarrased to say that I have played them and loved them up until 2 months ago. I pulled the trigger on a custom order set of AP2's. +1/2" and 2 degrees up right, X100. The AP2's are a amazing club. I truly cannot say enough about them. So glad I made the change.

I am now awating the 910 so I can sell my other driver. :)

Fantastic, I didn't know that 710CB are also coming out in black nickel - that would be very interesting indeed. I currently using 660 in satin look or brushed chrome and they are nice. I prefer that over shiny chrome. I am not looking to change now, but black nickel version could change my mind.

You may have tried all the others that Titleist made, but I note that you have never tried the AP2 or AP1 s. Don't miss out on giving those a try. You just might get a real surprise.

I have been playing Miz MX-25 for two years now. On the verge of switching over to 710CB. Only hesitating over rumours about 710CB being released in a brushed chrome or black nickel finish as I would like that heaps more than the shiny chrome.

Titleist 681 2 - 9 iron, S400. Been playing them for 2 years.

My irons came out in 2001. This is the second set of 681's I have played. I wore out the first and tried to upgrade to the 680's but it just wasn't the same. This is hands down the best iron Titleist has ever made. No offset through the whole set and it was the last set to be Hoffman forged in the USA. I will only ever play 681's for the rest of my life.

I am still playing DCI 981 Irons. I have not been playing on a regular basis in the last 5 years. I started playing frequently again about 2 months ago. I purchased a set of X-20 Irons with uniflex shafts. After spraying the ball all over the course, I went back last week and started playing with my 10 yr old set of 981's. They are the straightest clubs I have hit. I forgot how good they were. They have the s300 dynagold shaft and I love this set. Just wasted money on the new x-20's.

I just hit a used set of MB's at a local golf shop and I have to say that I love them! They were 5-p and the ball seriously felt like nothing when I made a true strike. Like a hot knife cutting through butter, it was just awesome!

Unfortunately I was hitting off a mat and into a big net so I couldn't tell how they were actually flying. All I know is that they felt great, I need to get fitted, and I would love to play a set of blades (at least 7-W)

Been playing the 690 mb's for 8 years now and they have been great. Never thought i would find a better set until now. I have been inpatiently waiting for 2.5 weeks for my new 710 mb's to arrive. +.5in dg tour issue x-100 1 deg. up. Now if they only made a 2 iron for the mb's.......

Decided early this year to switch from my 5 year old Cleveland CG4 game improvement irons to a set of AP2s. However, in an attempt to make the transition easier, I picked up a 3-year old set of Titleist 755 Forged to play in between. Now I love the 755s and decided to wait a bit longer to spend the money on the AP2s. I like a thin topline and these old 755s, which have an even thinner topline than the AP2s. When I do eventually switch over to the AP2s I will likely only buy the 5-PW which should keep the cost down. I play a 3 & 4 hybrid and 3 different Vokey wedges so there's no need to buy the 3 and 4 iron or the GW. That saves a few hundred bucks.

still playing 735 CM's will probably be picking up a set of AP2's toward the end of the year, trying to find a decent set of pre-owned for around half the price.

Still have my DCI 762. Love them but I think its time to let them go. AP2's or the CB' s not sure yet. But what ever I get Im sure i will keep that set for another 8-9 years...

I normally play with a set of irons for about 5 years and play around 100 rounds per year. This spring I picked up a set of the AP1 710 irons. Great set and I plan on using them for many years.

After 10 years of DCI 981 Irons I am finally upgrading to the AP2 irons. I am looking forward to the new technology and the forged feel.

I was playing a set for roughly 11 years before I decided to get another set of clubs for myself. Granted I bought a older model of club and not the newest model out there, but I hit them better than anything else.

I don't have a clue. Maybe 5-7 years. They are the closest thing to my old '80 something and '91 Tour Model muscle backs which I'm trying to source again

I bought my 704cb on ebay, and many other clubs for that matter, about 6 years ago and have never had a problem with authenticity.
