I noticed that my ball went about a club length longer and there was a baby fade to most of my shots. I could not hit a draw as easily and was wondering

RE: Interlocking grip

I have always used interlock, it worked for Jack so why not?

RE: Interlocking grip

I just switched to interlocking from overlapping after many years. I just fell my grip pressure is lighter for some reason. I have always faded the ball so that has not changed but I do feel I'm a little longer and more importantly with what seems like less effort

RE: Interlocking grip
I'm interested in this thread as well. I read and re-read Hogan's 5 Lessons book and decided to switch to an overlapping grip after playing an inter-locking grip for 25 years or so. I'm able to control the ball better with an overlapping grip, but do feel like I've given up some distance.
That is the main reason I went to the overlapping grip. Control. With the overlap I can draw or or cut the ball much easier when I need to with much more accuracy. Yes, I too have lost distance, but I am approaching 73 years of age. My very best distance now will max out at 270 on a good day if the ground is hard. Got that spin of the face of the driver down to 1800-2200 range. Also have an awesome fitter. There is an adjustment period when making a grip change. Adjusting to the distances.

RE: Interlocking grip

I'm interested in this thread as well. That's what's baffling.

Can't wait to hear what the rest of the TT community thinks about this one......

RE: Interlocking grip

Interlocking is a stronger grip. Could be that you are cutting the ball more, the left hand is coming more into play. Hard to draw with a strong left hand grip.
