She basically had me use one piece motion on the takeaway keeping the club faced closed. I was rolling the club back behind me and she said that once that happens with me

RE: One piece takeaway

I have a one piece take away and am a very consistent striker of the ball

I believe it was by Phil Ritson and featured David Leadbetter and a couple other top instructors. Besides the one piece takeaway they also taught coil force tension and keeping the ball inside the left heal for all shots. Reminded me of Hogan's ball placement. I cannot for the life of me remember what the title of the video was. If anyone knows of this video, please share.

You'll need to ask yourself as the doer; which one would you like to work with?
If it is the current- stay with the LPGA coach.
If it's the other, there are plenty of teachers who can help you perfect what you already do.

Good luck.

RE: One piece takeaway

If it works for you, keep it. I have tried the one piece takeaway when I have struggled with my swing before.

RE: One piece takeaway

The take away is always something I have to practice. I have the same flaw that creeps into my swing- breaking the wrists sideways and then the club gets flat and layed off.

I practice the one-piece takeaway in my living room a lot.

RE: One piece takeaway

Eric:
I totally agree with you. Making consistent swings from practice is only the beginning. Practice is where it begins and it ends on the course to see what corrections need to be made.
Thanks,
But we all do it . Anyone who is a lover of golf hopes eventually hopes to come across a little tip that will enlighten us on how to get better . It’s what we do

RE: One piece takeaway

Hi Mike:
Repetition is the only way to make a major swing change. The more practice, the more those better shots will happen. Good luck, keep going!

RE: One piece takeaway

Stay with it no matter how strange it feels. After a while it won't feel strange anymore. To quote Martin Hall " If you keep doing what you're doing, you're going to keep getting what you get. Put the time in and make the change"

RE: One piece takeaway

Mike R, keep working on it. I go to my swing coach at the end of a year & see what habits I picked up and work through those during the winter months. Then we revisit in early spring to see what habits I picked up by not playing or hitting balls. And there is always something to work on or tweak.

I have heard of that type of take away, if it's showing progress keep at it.

Good Luck,
