  1. I'm sure most have seen the news (www.golfdigest.com/.../usga-announces-u-s--open-will-move-to-nbc--ending-relationship-w).

I enjoyed the US Open telecast on Fox but think that Golf Channel/NBC is a better home for the other events. We all know that Golf Channel is on constantly in clubhouses and the homes of golf fans who will appreciate catching some of the four-ball, US Junior, or US Senior Open that have been relegated to FS1 the past few years.

I am optimistic that NBC/GC will dive in on coverage of unique events like the Walker Cup and US Open sectionals as well. The deal also gives Golf Channel a real chance to tell stories of rising stars with (now) coverage of the US Junior, NCAA golf, and the US Am/Walker Cup.

Hoping that Brad Faxon and Shane Bacon (incidentally, both Titleist guys) end up somewhere good after the shake-up.

I like the change away from Fox and I believe GC/NBC will do a fantastic job.
  3. Great perspective, thanks for the additional fidelity. Looking forward to the telecast.

Thank God NBC is back. I disliked Fox's coverage from the getgo .

I always felt like fox made it seem a little bigger, it had that big game feel! I get that NBC does golf more and therefore has the opportunity to do it better, but i think the NBC coverage is kinda corny. I like zinger and enjoy what he has to say, I just thought Fox made the event seem bigger and I liked that. Either way, Ill be watching!

Azinger works for NBC also. He replaced Johnny Miller. Odd that we was working for both networks.

Azinger replaced Greg Norman on Fox then was hired by NBC when Johnny Miller retired. Also Azinger's Fox gig was only the major USGA events which is about 4 or 5 a year. He's not the only one that bounced around.

I'm happy to see the move, I never was a big fan of the Fox coverage.

I always felt like the Fox broadcast had rookie commentators. As in new to the commentating experience fresh out of college. NBC sounded more fluent.
