Scotty Cameron Newport 2 or Squareback 2 (Special or super select)

I switch between Phantom 5.5 and Newport 2 all the time. I'm more precise with my Newport 2. I've already tested the Squareback 2 special and super select but I'm not sure if it's better in the long run. What is your opinion.

A month in to getting a Fastback 1.5 Limited Xperamental after gaming a Cira63 model 7 for about 18 years. Just love it. I never knew how a putter could be forgiving but wow. This thing just hits the line I’m looking at and the distance control is sick. www.titleist.com/.../qphntkt7uvlaly3syziv

I’m right there with you! I have mine in August and can’t wait, flying in for the day. Visited the Gallery last year for the first time and it definitely deserves return trips if you can swing it. The fish taco place down the street on the corner is really good. I am bringing my MOTO I bought there last year so hopefully I will have a shot at CT this year, but we’ll see. Lots of great items to shop for and the staff are super friendly. Can’t suggest much more than that since my trips have been quick. Best of luck to you!

Studio fitting

I locked in my fitting at the Scotty Cameron Studio this October, and after reading so many posts on Reddit and Team Titleist, I can’t explain how excited I am for this experience.

I’ve already seen recommendations for great food around the area, and I’ve heard the Studio Store inventory changes daily, which just adds to the excitement.

For anyone who’s made the trip, what are your must-do suggestions? I’ll only be in the area for the day, and it’ll be my first time visiting California, so I’d love to make the most of it!

Phantom 5.2

I recently picked up this putter and am loving it. Much easier to line up my putts than the single bend. Added a Superstrine Zenergy PT and it’s perfect.

Has anyone added a SuperStroke wrist lock to their Phantom Scotty?

I putted the other day with my brothers Scotty Cameron Newport 2.5+ and he had a Super Stroke zenergy wrist lock grip. It felt really good and I liked the feel.

Has anyone put one of these grips on a Phantom 11 or 11.5?

Hole in one

July 15 I did a hole in one in Tijeras Creek golf club in Rancho Santa Margarita Ca Hole number 7th 117 yards 6 rescue with my titlest AVX ball I did a nice swing the ball landed in the green and rolled in to the hole for my 3rd hole in one. My name Teresa Glz

The Fastback OC is really catching my eye. I'm trying to delay my visit to the shop because I'm afraid I'll end up buying it. I'm trying to be strong, but I don't know how much longer I can hold out.

I used a Scotty Newport or variant for years, and I broke hearts right and left with that blade style.

A few years ago I realized I just wasn’t making as many putts as I used to. I started experimenting with center shafted putters. I went through 4 different ones, but could never feel the distance; I left putts woefully short or pathetically long. But I became pretty automatic from 5 feet and in.

When the new Fastback OC came out late last year, I grabbed one immediately. I needed to change out the weights, from 2 10s to 15 in the rear, 20 in the front. Finally, the legendary Scotty feel in a low torque putter! My handicap has dropped over 3 points since January. I honestly feel like I can make everything with this putter; that’s how confident I’ve become.

Anyone else out there feel the same?

Phantom 12

So, what’s the deal with the Phantom 12? I love this putter, but the single bend is keeping me from buying. It just looks so weird. I’m trying to go to a mallet from a blade (newport 2) and can’t see myself putting without a plumbers neck.

Will titleist come out with a plumbers neck option?

I have and I absolutely love it, but there’s something about the 12. I love the contrast of the darker gray, feel like it will reflect the sun less. 12 just looks much more forgiving and better to my eyes.

I have an older studio stainless (I think) Newport 2.7. I like the way that sets up but wanted to try a higher MOI, mallet style putter. For me, the 5 was very similar due to the shaft style (bend shaft). It is on an extended trial on the course and practice green to see if i actually perform any better with it or not, particularly on longer 'lag' putts.

Have you checked out the 9.2R? Beautiful putter imo. There are a few other plumber neck options in the Phantom lineup but I really like the 9.2R.

Currently gaming the 5.2 and LOVE it. Key was getting fitted though which helped between the 5 and 5.2

I’m with you!! I recently made the switch after using a few different LAB models over the past few years. I like the LABs, but I never loved the feel off the face. My ‘club guy’ suggested the Fastback OC and it’s been great. Classic ‘Scotty feel’ in a low-torque configuration. I’m at 34” and recently switched out the stock 15g weights to 20g weights as I wanted a heavier putter for slower greens.

Go for it!! You want a putter that feels good to you and you have confidence in. I’d have the original slid off by a qualified club repair technician. You can save it and have it reinstalled if you want to go back to the original configuration.

Scotty Cameron 2026 Phantom 11 ROC

I love this putter. Acoustics, feel and balance world class. Stable and responsive. The best putter I have ever used. I would, however, like to change the grip out to a larger superstroke 2.0 or 3.0. Will this throw off the balance and the low torque design. I would add a 25 grm counter weight to a 60 gram grip. I think that matches the weight of the stock matador midsize grip on it (85-87 grams). Can anyone advise or weigh in on the the effectiveness of this? Appreciate any insights and experiences. I don't want to mess up a splendid flatstick!

I was trying out the 2026 Phantom 5.5 and 7.5 at 2nd swing, I was joking a lot of putts, but I take that with a grain of salt since it’s on a flat surface, overall I liked how both felt off the face and all around.

I have not looked at the 5, I know it’s a different neck, but which do you prefer? I know it’s always personal preference but wondered what most thought.

Really it comes down to your putting stroke and how much, if any toe hang of the putter may help you make more putts.

Personally, I use the Phantom 9R model and also have an 11R OC that I put into the bag at times as well.

With the cost of new equipment, always worthwhile to get properly fit for any clubs in your bag.
