Things are looking up.....

It has been a long haul, but things are starting to fall in place. Played in our men's Interclub matches today. It has been a long time since I have been physically able to do that. September 2025. Have been working on my game, not quite where I want it to be yet, but getting there. Sand traps and I just have not gelled yet. Finish tied for 7th today and in the money. A sweet 84. What a great feeling.

Eleven teams playing with ten members on each team, top eight scores count. We finished second as a team, losing to the home team by one point. Their greens were not in the best of conditions. Like putting on a carpet, but as the saying goes, we all had to put on them. Hammer time.

Our course is the next match on the 29th. They hate our greens because they are fast and lots of undulations. .

Back still hurts, had MRI for muscle strain in lower back. Know results on Thursday. Was told it takes three months to heal. Salonpas helps. Feels so good to be back in the game. Hakuna matata.

Team Titleist at Black Gold Golf Course – October 1, 2026

Add another event to your Fall golf calendar in Southern California… Team Titleist is headed to Black Gold GC on October 1, 2026. The Arthur Hills designed course with elevation changes and challenging greens offers a variety of shot making opportunities and views of Orange County from high above Yorba Linda.

After recent infrastructure renovations, the course will be back to full length and the new solar covering of the driving range will give us some shade prior to the round. Like last year, we’re hoping Jim Pooler, Titleist Senior Fitter (Instagram: @friendlyfitter), will be available to provide valuable product knowledge of SM11, T Series Irons and especially the new GTS Driver and Woods. Black Gold GC is also a Titleist fitting location when available as well as many other SoCal locations.

Take a mental health day and ‘Come for golf, stay for the relationships’. Our 10am start time will allow for a lot of great interactions. 32 spots available.

Join us for a fun and competitive morning on the TrackMan simulator bays at Onyx Indoor Golf. The tournament will feature a 2 vs 2 Greensome match-play format, creating an exciting team competition for golfers of all skill levels. Mistwood… the weekend after the IL Women’s Open… prepare yourselves for some fun and certainly a challenging round. This place hosts PGA qualifiers, Korn Ferry, LPGA, Epson, College, Highshcool, CDGA, US Kids….. It just recently won “Rennovation of the year” , “Best New Course”, and the coveted “Top 50 Public Course.”

Sunscreen/Sunblock

Hello fellow Team Titleist members! How many of you apply sunblock or sunscreen before you play or practice? What brand do you use? I've been making a more conscientious effort to apply protection before I hit the course. I use Skin Sunscreen Golf. It is oxybenzone-free, smells good and, best of all, doesn't stain my clothes!

I've found out most sunscreens give me migraines after a couple hours of applying them. Started using Blue Lizard Sensitive Mineral Sunscreen. The migraines have stopped. That's the brand I would suggest.

2026 Team Titleist Academy (Event Recap)

Imagine a destination with private practice facilities, elite instruction, and access to championship golf all set against the stunning backdrop of the Appalachian Mountains.

That’s exactly what we found at Blackburn Golf Academy, where we hosted our second Team Titleist Academy alongside Mark Blackburn and his incredible team.

From the moment everyone arrived, it was clear this wasn’t just another golf event, it was a fully immersive experience designed to help each player better understand their game and walk away with a real plan for improvement.

Day 1: Building the Foundation

We kicked things off by getting back to the fundamentals. Team Titleist Members rotated through focused sessions on putting (including AimPoint green reading), short game, and distance wedge control.

The highlight of the day, without question, was the one-on-one time with Mark Blackburn. Every attendee walked away with a personalized coaching plan tailored to their swing and tendencies, something they can continue to build on long after the event.

Day 2: Performance Under Pressure

Day two shifted gears a bit and focused on performance and how to take what you’ve learned and actually execute.

We were joined by Bhrett McCabe, who led a session on the mental side of the game. It was a powerful reminder that playing your best isn’t just about mechanics, it’s about how you think, focus, and respond under pressure.

From there, we moved into full swing and driver work, continuing to refine each player’s motion with the help of Blackburn’s team.

We also layered in a full Titleist fitting experience. Members worked with a Vokey wedge specialist to get fit into the new Vokey SM11 wedges, and each person received a custom wedge as part of the experience. On top of that, everyone went through a golf ball fitting to make sure they were optimized from tee to green.

Day 3: Practice with Purpose

By day three, the focus shifted to something we don’t talk about enough: how to actually practice.

With personalized plans in hand, members spent time working through structured drills and intentional reps, learning how to make their practice time more effective moving forward. It wasn’t just about hitting balls, it was about building habits that lead to real improvement.

At Titleist, we’re committed to helping dedicated golfers play their best. And the Team Titleist Academy is a perfect example of what that looks like in action.

TT Member Connection & Phone App Idea

Good day TT! I try to stay active in the discussions but getting logged in and navigating to the pages can sometimes be longer than I have to offer.

Many of us have made new friends through various TT events. I also see a lot of requests for course suggestions while traveling and even trying to find other TT members to play with while there in a new place.

I was wondering how we could streamline the opportunity to connect with fellow TT members. Would there be a rather simple app we could develop that would allow members to: - opt in or out of receiving notifications/messages - while also having an easy to find/post central area for connecting with other members on course recommendations and playing partner availability?

Phone app functionality may lend itself to easier connections/notifications rather than simply emails.

What functionality would others like to see available? What would make it the most useful to you?

The “app” discussion was a topic here a few years ago and the Facebook page became the compromise. This boiled down to the cost to develop and maintain an app and the legal concerns about open discussions without a company moderator. Definitely not a new idea or request but only likely to happen if the company decides it’s worth pursuing.

I use mine in a similar fashion. Here’s a tip to make them last longer. Look up a product called Sticker Armor. It’s essentially shrink wrap tubing size for a variety of bottles. It adds a layer of protection and I’ve been really happy with it.

hey guys this is my second season playing trying to get better to match up with my brothers skill level. I got interested in golf when he took me to the driving range in florida while on vacation. My first season I mostly worked on my grip, stance, and swing. This season I am working on distance and fixing my horrible right slice. I would appreciate any tips, tricks, or even better anyones practices they do while on the range to prepare before heading out to the course.

Meet my new caddie - Ryder

Picked my a new addition to the family yesterday and named him Ryder. I'm trying to get his AKC registered name and wanted to keep in golf-related name. The first name (omitted) will be the breeder:

1. Circle T 2. Scotty Circle T 3. Cameron Circle T

Other thoughts? He's a standard poodle (10 weeks) and will eventually be 26/28 inches tall and around 70 pounds
