  1. A friend and I are interested in the Team Titleist Invitational coming up this summer. Does anybody know what the format of this event is? Is it a team event? If so would him and I be paired together/on the same team for both rounds or are teams/pairings selected randomly? Thanks.

You can request to play together. At the last Team Titleist Invitational at Kiawah, you were assigned to a team but you could request who you played with. The real prize of the event is getting to meet other Team Titleist members and play a few great courses.

As Tyler said... and both rounds are individual stroke play against your handicap (best ball for the team). No "scramble" format.

In addition to Tyler's comments, Abbey will likely be posting either a forum entry or e-mail you directly asking for requests for playing partners. For scoring purposes, you may be assigned to different teams based on averaging the handicaps, but still playing in the same group with those you request. In the end the gift bags, the group reception and meals, and the challenge of the courses will be the best rewards. Kiawah Island Ocean and The Straits are among the top visual playing venues in the country, and thanks to encouragement from Titleist, we've had the option to see these.

Believe they have asked for our GHIN handicap in the past. As everyone has stated, it is about the opportunity to meet others from the community and to play top rates courses. The tee gifts more than compensate any prizes. Everyone feels like a winner at the Team Titleist Invitationals. Abby and the rest of the team are on top of their game, based on the two events I attended (Pinehurst and TPC Sawgrass).

Isn't the Whistling Straits event filled up? I wasn't sure of my schedule at announcement, but looks like I could make it now.

    Hey Robert,

There may be a couple of spots still open. I believe there were a few late cancellations. Give them a call and hopefully we see you in August!

Mike....Thanks for the heads up. Ill check on it and my schedule tomorrow.

Hated to not make the Short Game Experience in Pinehurst, this would definitely make up for it.

    Ill report back.
  11. Wish I could go. Sounds like a good time. Have fun

I spoke to the reservations staff at Kohler. Looks like there's still some room left, just need to confirm my work plans, but looks like I'll be heading to the great state of Wisconsin in a couple months.

Really excited for this, I've played the Straits course several times as I used to travel up there for business, but it's been well over 10 years, so this will be great!

Was able to get a spot confirmed, and airline miles cashed in. All set to see everyone in August. I'll most likely be renting a car, so if anyone will be needing a ride, just message me here and we can see if the schedules match up.

@Mike, looking forward to seeing you and the team, after missing you in SC last year

Thanks Mike, I would rather it have come on #17 on the Straits course, but maybe that'll be my 2nd one!

    See you in August!

How can one of these events get planned/scheduled in Northern California?

The annual Titleist events are planned by Titleist and usually located at a major golf facility. Past events have been Kiawah Island, Pinehurst, and Sawgrass. Not likely that one in the future will land itself in Northern California. That said, several “regional” events are done every year, not planned and sponsored by Titleist but encouraged. Just requires a TT member to take the time and trouble to plan and organize one. There is an events tab on the website listing past and future ones. I helped get one done in March and we are going to try to keep it going each year. You are definitely welcome to come down to San Diego next March and join us. Will see posts in February.

Arizona would be another nice destination in the fall.
  20. My brother and I signed up for this summer’s event up in Kohler. I haven’t played the River Course in probably 20 years and I have never played the Straits. This is my first TT event and I cannot wait to get up there, play some golf, meet some new people and have lots of fun. See everyone there!!
