Titleist forged a few wedges in the late 1990s (pre-Vokey). Still have my BF (Faxon) with the milled ports in my collection.

There have been cold forged Vokeys sold in the Asian market. You'll pay a pretty penny, but they might be what you're after.

Casting also allows for a more consistent camber and bounce. The manufacturing process is much quicker. I've been a plus handicap for a LONG time, and I don't feel any difference in feel between the Vokey and a true forged wedge. I honestly think it's all in the golf ball.....

I don't know about castings being more durable, but castings offer the manufacturer the ability to make more consistent club heads that feel no different than forgings. This has been proven time and again on pros and amateurs. The feel is more about the metal used (carbon steel vs stainless steel) than the manufacturing method.

I got my first ever Vokey in 2007 (258-12). Vokey lob and X wedges since 2009 (SM2, SM c-c, SM4). Vokey sand wedges since 2011 (SM c-c, SM4).

Nothing beats them. My current setup is 48-06 and 54-11 bent 1* strong, 58-06 and 64-07.

They feel just as soft as forged wedges but are much more durable. Give them an honest try and I think you'll be happy.
