The Vokeys do not have multiple bounce options for each grind, unless you customize I guess. They do tell you how much bounce there is in each loft/grind combo. But I don't really care about bounce. I play the grinds that work for me.

The M grind has less bounce than other grinds as the grind is designed for those that like to open or close the face. I know if has more heel relief when I open the face. I play a 56M.

And I just went to a K grind for most bunker shots since I started playing those shots with an almost square stance and only slightly open club face. Rather than manipulate my set up on bunker shots, I bought a wedge to do the work for me. Make a simpler swing and let the club do the work. Wedges are so good now. Especially Vokeys.

If it’s a really tight lie, you may want to look at a lower bounce option, but I’ve read that the M grind 60 gets a lot of love. Just got one myself but haven’t been able to try it out yet.

What you need to look at is the grind and not the bounce.

I'm a scratch player who plays in both state and national events. I play nothing in my 54 or 59 wedges less than 12 deg bounce but my grinds allow me to lay flay on all surfaces.

i had a 60.12 D grind for the last year and half. Finally got fed up with blading chip shot because i had to much bounce. Went to a 60.08 M grind and never looked back

Love my 58.12D SM7 in bunkers and on the fairways and was fitted for these types of lies at a Vokey experience by Mr. Vokey and his team. Have not upgraded because it works so well.

Hey Glen,

My Titleist rep went through all of my wedges with me to determine what would work best. My main concern was approach shots, which are typically from tight, medium to hard fairways. He confirmed that less bounce will cut through the turf to get under the ball, on the other hand if you used higher bounce, it would bounce off of the ground behind the ball and the leading edge would strike the ball instead of the face. I was already carrying a 60-06 and a 64-07, so I added a 58-08 and a 54-08. I use all of those around the greens in rough or sand as well, just opening or closing the face based on the shot I need to hit. The 58 and 54 are SM6 M grinds.
