It really depends on your technique and the course conditions you play the most. Some people like to primarily use one wedge with heal and toe relief grinds for versatility and other people might prefer having multiple wedges with one being low bounce and another being high bounce. The best way to know what works for you is to go through a formal wedge fitting. If you can’t do that, a basic rule of thumb for most people would be to use low bounce if you play a lot of firm tight lie courses and more bounce if you play a lot of courses with thicker or heavier rough. Heal grinds if you like to play a lot of shots with an open face. Most pros these days play a high bounce sand wedge and a low bounce lob wedge which allows them to have the most options around the greens. Hope this helps.

I like that idea of low bounce around the greens especially where I play because the grass is usually hard!

What did you fitter suggest... What type of grass around your greens, moisture. and greens themselves... Seek out a pro or even better.. Head to TPI.

I would go get fit but sounds expensive and I’m balling on a budget sadly so trying to find tips where I can

i have 8 degree bounce for chipping around the greens, and 12 degree bounce for soft bunkers

58-12D (56*) variety
60-04T firm bunkers and short pitches.

64* 14.5 bounce soft deep bunkers

My wedge gap is 44-50-56-60-64. The 44 and 50 lofts are F grind with 10* bounce, 56 is 58-12D with 10* bounce, 60-04T and a PNG Bunkr (64* 14.5 bounce). D grind and the Bunkr for most soft greenside bunkers. I change ball position on the F grinds depending on lie.

52-12F (50*) for most pitching.
58-12D (56*) soft and moderate sand.
60-04T hard sand & tight lies
Bunkr (64* 14.5 bounce) for deep fluffy sand.

I vary ball position depending upon lies.

The D and T grind are best for flop shots.

I can hit T grind from some soft sand.

I vary ball position depending on lies.
