How often do you clean your clubs? I play 3 times a week and after each round I clean my clubs. In the evening I grab all my irons and go to the sink and take a soft white bristle brush. I rub the brush on hand soap and clean each iron, rinse and dry and all this only takes a commercial break. Then next commercial I do my metal woods on the bottom and face!!! To me its worth having my equipment ready for the next day.

  2. Hi Bob.

I started a similar discussion August 19 under the headline "Keeping AP2 good looking". It was under the "Golf Clubs" section. You might find some inspiration there.

First, kudos to you for getting out three days a week! Well done!
I play one to two days a week and I clean my clubs every Monday night, including the grips. There's usually some sporting event on that I can enjoy while giving my 14 little guys a warm bath.

I guess I'm a freak! I clean them after each shot and then after the round which is usually less time because I normally don't have to clean them. I play at least once a week sometimes two. I also clean them when I go to the range after I'm done hitting each club which is once or twice a week.

Hi Bob, I like to clean my clubs once a week or more if I play more. I am very impressed you clean them 3 times per week though.

I have a wet towel on the go, from range to course. The nightmare is getting sand out of vokeys with a dry towel!

I always wipe off each club after each shot to prevent build-up throughout the round. Then the caddies at my club give all the clubs a wipe-down after each round. Also, I usually do a full cleaning about every-other week (clean the heads and grips plus wipe-down the shafts). If I am playing in a tournament, I will clean my clubs after each round.

Pretty much after every shot with a wet towel then I'll typically dunk them in a bucket of soapy water on the weekend. I play a minimum of twice a week with 1 or 2 ranges sessions added in.

I clean them after each shot with a wet towell, then will give them each another cleaning at the end of the round.

Every time I use them, which is pretty much everyday. I keep them wiped down during a round with a wet towel. If they get mud/dirt in the grooves, I will use my soft Frogger brush quickly on them before or after a shot. Each evening I sit and watch the sunset while cleaning each club more thoroughly with a dip in a bucket of water mixed with Dawn, a soft bristle brushing, another dunk to rinse and finally a towel dry. Once every couple weeks or so, I scrub the grips clean with the same bristle brush.

After every shot they are wiped with a soapy towel and dried. My grips get wiped weekly and changed around every four months.
Shoes after every round and then shoe trees installed.

We spend a small fortune on these investments and get out what we put in.

Mine get cleaned after every shot. It is much easier to do it then than after the dirt drys on then.

Like most avid golfers I clean/ wipe the club after every shot and they get the full treatment the night before I play a round. It's so nice to have them looking and feeling their best when your on the course. Part of it is pride, part is maintaining my investment, and part is psychological . I especially like clean grips , helping me keep my grip pressure light.
  19. I try and wipe them off after each shot. If we come up to a tee box and there is a wait sometimes I will check the faces of all my clubs and give them a cleaning to kill time. The night before playing I will check my club faces to see if which ones need a good cleaning will also clean the grips with soap and water about every other week or depending on how many rounds I've played.

Always give mine a quick wipe with a towel after each shot...... then a quick clean with a nylon brush between rounds. The grips get a good scrubbing with soap and warm water every 5 or 6 rounds.

I wipe them down with a wet towel after every shot, but they get a full cleaning after every round with a sponge, brush and mild soapy water. I love to detail cars so that comes into play in an overly anal retentive way, like using metal polish on the soles and top edge of the irons every month. I use glaze for the back of the irons and on the woods then follow with a polymer sealant and they get buffed with a microfiber towel-that's done every couple months...

Yes, I have issues but my clubs look fantastic! Haha!

    Reading,

I usually wash them every 3 or 4 rounds because i scrape the dirt out of the grooves before each shot
