Just so everyone knows where I'm coming from: I just rested a driver that I've had since 2008, thinking for as long as there isn't anything very different about anything about it, I'm okay with what I have. But, I've always wanted a Titleist driver for the longest time. Each time I get a chance, I try and stop by local super stores, and for many attempts, the numbers or results from the machine had always read an unfavorable results and had always thought it was me and I'm not cut out for the 915s. This went on for at least 3 visits this year. But just recently, a friend had me try his D2, and also his buddy who had a D3 at the range both 915s. Much to my surprise in delight, I have finally seen its ball flight, and it's amazingly great! The D3 sets up slightly better for me and I liked the shape I can produce in a stock swing in it's neutral setting. Needless to say, I now have a D3 in the bag. There are some great things that had change for me. For one the courses long holes are mostly reachable again in two on the tees I regularly play. But even more importantly, I have had the highest confidence that I can put my self in play in a much higher percentage than any other driver I've ever owned. This was the changes I was looking for in a driver. #915Stories

Awesome story. Thanks so much for sharing.

Here's to more fairways and greens!

  3. First a little background. I myself do not own a set of  Titleist golf clubs, but  purchased a set of  AP2 714 irons Vokey wedges, and 913 17 and 21 degree hybrids for my 16 year old daughter just about 14 months ago. At the time she was using a C Optiforce driver that she was doing ok with so we didn't replace it. She has only been playing golf for a little over 2 years, and the AP2 irons vokey wedges and 913 hybrids have been a perfect fit. After the 915 line of drivers came out her and I started talking about replacing the old driver with a new 915.

Today we went to Covered Bridge golf club in southern Indiana to a Titleist demo day. Our home courses local pro that is a Titleist dealer had set up for us to have her fitted for a new 915 driver. Doug the Titleist rep that done the fitting was outstanding as would be expected with anything from Titleist. He took time and great care to make sure that when we left she had the perfect set up for her swing and swing speed. She had an average swing speed of 95 mph, and with some tips from Doug got her attack angle to -1.5. Tomorrow we are going to order a new Titleist 915 D2 8.5 degree driver, with a Diamana Red 50 shaft if regular flex. She will play it in the D3 surefit hosel setting. With her old driver her spin rate was between 4900 and 5300, with the new fitted 915 its now between 2850 and 3100. This change increased her carry distance by an average of 28 yards. She had a little trouble getting used to the new driver, but Doug gave her enough time to get used to it, and you could really see a huge difference.

What makes me proud about this purchase is that she is going to pay for over half of the new driver with her own money. She got a job this summer at our local course cleaning carts and picking the range, and has saved her money to help make part of the purchase. While we were at the demo day, she picked up her first Scotty a Newport 2 and fell in love with it. She now is talking about asking for extra shifts at the course so she can order her a new one. That makes mom and dad proud that she understands that money just doesn't fall from that sky and that nice things are earned. She is Titleist through and through, and I don't see that changing anytime soon

I love my 913 D3. I rarely miss a fairway, I can shape it both ways , and its been my favorite club for 2 years.

When I was fit for a 915 my numbers looked promising.  Launch and spin were optimum , however , ball speed, carry distance, and total distance were all equal to my beloved 913...  I took a leap of faith knowing that Titleist has never let me down in the past.  I played my most familiar course so I could fairly judge the results.  WOW !  I was hitting most of my  approach shots from distances I was not accustom to.  Some were one or two clubs closer than normal. I hit irons into 2 of the par 5 holes which previously I had never been closer than hybrid at best.  I did say most holes because there were 3 drives that I hit thin and they actually got out to my familiar  locations.  I hit practice second drives for testing on those occasions and all were noticably farther.

I hit 14 fairways, gained an average of 15 yards, and proceeded to go back and purchase a new 915 3 metal and hybrid.

I will alway have fond memories of my 913 and our time together but there is a new love in my life.  The new 915 series is truly fantastic .

#915Stories  I always like to have the newest, most advanced clubs from Titleist in my bag so it is no surprise that I was very happy to receive my new 915 driver and fairway metal a couple days before the release date from my pre-order.  Happy to be the first guy at my club to have these beautiful clubs.  Last November I put into play a 915D3 9.5 degree driver with a RIP alpha 74g stiff shaft and a 915F 15 degree fairway metal with a ProForce V2 76g stiff shaft.  As soon as these arrived I was out on the range comparing them to my previous generation 913 metals.  On the driver I was consistently 5-7 yards longer and the fairway metal was quite a bit longer and more accurate.  I could not be more pleased with the results.  Some people had initially commented about the sound of the club versus the previous versions, but I think the sound is perfect!  These have been in play ever since.  I just happened to have a picture of these babies in my phone from the day I took the wrappers off.

The biggest surprise came a couple of days later when my new hybrid arrived.  I ordered a 915Hd 20.5 degree with a ProForce V2 89g shaft and it is a beauty.  I had tried previous versions of the Titleist hybrids and could never really feel right about the way the club looked at address and it's performance.  With the introduction of the 915Hd, the smaller profile looked great to my eye and the performance was out of this world.

As soon as I hit this club I knew it was here to stay.  The funny thing is I had been holding on to a hybrid from the "A" company because I could hit it so well and hiding it under a generic cover so nobody would know I had a non-Titleist club in my bag.  After hitting the new 915Hd I could not get that old club out of my bag fast enough.  Long and straight as an arrow is how I would describe the new 915Hd and everybody calls it my "Money Club."  I hit this club so long and straight many people have asked why I carry a driver at all.  For example, I was in Ireland last week playing in a tournament with this trusty club in tow.  Number 4 on the Old Course at Lahinch is called "The Klondike" and it plays uphill to a narrow gap where the fairway is probably only 10 yards wide to the base of a big sand dune where you then have to hit over the 35 foot sand due in a blind approach (one of Old Tom Morris' classics for sure).  The wind was blowing pretty hard directly behind us so I knew distance would not be an issue.  All of my playing partners hit their drivers up the hill, a couple off the fairway into the heavy stuff.  The farther you go up the hill the narrower it gets, so I pulled out the 915Hd hybrid.  The fairway runs out at 311 yards off the tee and I smoked the hybrid about 20 yards short of the end of the fairway (the wind was obviously helping a little on this one).  The ball left my club and flew straight as an arrow past everybody else's shots with their drivers.  My opponents couldn't help but to just say "holy cow" (or something similar, but a little more colorful) after that shot.  Once again this club surpassed all of my expectations.  I was on the par 5 in two (hybrid, 6 iron) and missed the eagle put but walked away with a birdie.  Another example of why this is my "Money Club" for sure!  I also just happened to have a picture of this beauty from the day I took the plastic off and out it in my bag.

I've been playing a 915D3 driver and a 915hd 3 wood for two months. I can say the clubs are more solid than the 910/913 series clubs on off-center or low-on-the-clubface hits. I like the sound of the ball off the clubface and I think the clubs set up beautifully.

I agree with you totally but I am starting to notice the clubface is getting scratched in the same place I hit it.  I also noticed this on my 913 as it started to lose distance with solid hits.  I am wondering what the life expectancy of the clubface is if you hit it in the same spot all the time.  JAT.  Cheers!!!

#915stories. Jason I had no problem with my 913-D2 face scratching and showing wear. I have started to notice my 915-D2 showing wear and scratching. If I send it back to Titleist will they re-do the face?  I loved the ability of seeing fresh ball strike every time on the 913-D2. Would like to see it again on the 915-D2

Hey, Steve!  I'm going on 69 and I gently pick up my tee as I smile inside as my Prov1 flies past some of those youngsters with my 915D2, 10.25*, .05* open.  Makes you want to giggle like a young kid, but after all, we are gentlemen......

I replied on my 915D3 10.5* with an Aldila Rogue 60 silver shaft and 915hd 13.5* fairway wood with an 80 Rogue black shaft. I also have 17.5* and 20.5* 915 hd Hybrids set as strong as possible on the 17.5* and as weak as possible on the 20.5*. I've bent my Titelist 914 AP2 five and six irons stronger to fill the gap between the hybrid and five iron. The hybrids are MUCH easier to manufacture 3/4 shots with than any iron. All shafts are Aldila Rogue and stiff. The 915s are slightly longer than the 913s but more forgiving on shots hit low-on-the-face, my normal miss. The clubs are also a little easier to work versus forgiveness than anything Titelist has made since it acquired Golfcraft's manufacturing facility many years ago. I played Golfcraft in college, shifted to First Flight in the late '70s and started playing Titelist irons with the DCI. I have six sets of 962s, two of the sets 1-PW. I gave a set of 704s to a brother and have three sets of AP2 irons, all with different shafts. While hard to create anything new in the world of golf, the AP series of heads ranks with png Eye 1 and 2 series for quality. You can tell the quality by the quality of the players playing AP2s.

Love my 915D2 Driver! Went back to a 45" shaft from a 47" shaft and I am having so much fun with this club! I was predominantly a high fade driver of the golf ball but now I can turn it left to right, right to left, etc. I am 53 years old and in very good shape for my age. Work-out with weights regularly and try to stay as fit as possible. My buddies are always telling me how great their drivers are. But when I blast it by them sometimes by 40 to 50 yards they are scratching their heads. I just smile. Really like the 915D2. I am a very loyal Titleist supporter and want to say thanks to you guys for a great product. Or should I say great products? Sincerely, MCJ

I made the decision to purchase a new driver this year.  since I started playing golf since the age of 9 I've never bought a single new club in my life. I have used either free hand me down clubs from my grandfather or bought cheap 2-3 year old drivers.  after spending many hours at my local golf smith trying almost every manufacturer of drivers I settled on the Titleist 915 D2 driver.  since purchasing the club I've noticed a huge difference in just keeping the ball in play off the tee box.  and have started to dial it in so that now Im hitting more fairways off the tee!   in the 10 rounds I've played since purchasing the club I've noticed an average of 4-5 strokes per round dropped off my average score.  My next step is to finally purchase and have fitted a new set of Irons.  I'm looking at the new AP2 irons and cant wait to see if that will help even more.

    #915Stories,

I switched to Titleist when the 913's came out all in new bag Driver, Fairways, Hybrid, Irons and Sotty Putter. And I saw instant improvement in my game. So when the 714 AP1's came out I got fitted at a Demo day with a titleist rep, love them. Then came the 915's bought one from a local fitter and struggled with it, got fit at a titleist demo day by a titleist rep again for a 915 fairway wonderful again. But driver I still struggled with but thanks to the wonderful staff at TT who finally helped get me in the right shaft I can say love my Driver again now too. The 915 metals are great only advice as you can see is get fit by a good fitter, preferably a Titleist certified fitter and you too will be saying I love them. There is more to owning a great club when you buy Titleist you also become a member of a great family that takes care of you.

It feels like I've been playing the 909 metals forever. I've been waiting to get new ones and last Monday I finally pulled the trigger on the new 915's. I could not be happier! I've seen a dramatic increase in roll and a big decrease in spin. Thank you Titleist for the great products! One question though: The new ARC picks up a ton of dirt/grass and a tee doesn't fit in the channel. Do you sell a tool or brush that fits? DG

#915Stories I just got the New Titleist 915 D2, 9.5 with the Graphite Design S6+ regular shaft. I have played it for a week now and this club is simply awesome. I can work it both ways and hit it off the deck. So very happy with this driver and am now thinking of updating my other woods and hybrids to the new 915 series.

I tried the 915D2 multiple times at demos and a trial event before I finally pulled the trigger and ordered one.  The odd part is that even after hitting various setups multiple times I wasn't really confident that the 915 was better than my 913.  My numbers at the trial event weren't great, actually they were terrible.  If I had based my decision on the numbers alone I wouldn't have a 915 now.  I kept reading the posts here where everyone is posting how great the 915 is and so forth and I thought all these people can't be wrong, so I did it.  I've had my 915 a couple weeks and the first couple times out I still wasn't really impressed, but finally today I was able to tinker a bit during my round and all of a sudden I picked up between 10 and 15 yards over my 913D2.  During my round this morning I was playing a short par 4 (325 Yds) and I usually will just hit a hybrid off the tee, but today I said what the heck and hit driver...end result was a 40 Yrd pitch onto the green for my second shot.  I'm sold on my 915D2!

There are companies selling clubs that claim lots of distance, but they are not forgiving.  For example, the SLDR and R15 are long if you hit them absolutely perfect, otherwise you'll hit the ball all over the place.  Why would anyone want to bag a driver like that?  Certainly not anyone that's an amateur, and certainly not anyone that understands how to shoot lower scores.

You want a driver with a high MOI that will correct your less than perfect swings, and keeps the ball in play.  I tried the Titleist 915 D2 and D3 drivers and both were like shooting lasers.  They are very accurate, and just as long as anything else on the market.  And anyone that doesn't think so needs to go for a proper fitting.  They look really great as well.

The 915F is legal... but it's almost not fair for everyone else that doesn't bag it.  It's LONG, and it's accurate, and it's versatile off the deck or tee.  Best 3 wood I've seen on the market in a long time.

The 915H is great from the tee or turf, and very accurate.  I've owned hybrids before from the popular company Adams, and this was far superior.

So at this point, Titleist 915 has taken over my bag... driver, 3 wood, and 3 hybrid.

#915Stories...What can I say other than my new 915 D2, 10.5 degrees, Graphite Design GT-5/R1 Flex/Std length shaft and Titleist tour velvet grip is what an excellent round of golf is all about! I cannot believe what a difference from my previous Titleist 913 D2, except that the new lower loft and custom shaft has helped reduced my side spin and increased my overall drives by an additional avg of 15 yards or more depending on the firmness of the fairways! Getting fit again at the Manchester Lane facility has made all the difference in my game and not enough can be said for the Titleist brand and the excellent products they design!

I love standing on that first tee, lining up my Pro V1x and striping one down the fairway! LOVE my Titleist bag, clubs and gear! Thanks Titleist!

#915Stories My club professional handed me a demo of the 915D3 to try out. When I hit it, it was very easy to get the ball in the air, which is hard for me, but there was also very low driver spin. I immediately went to the nearest golf store, and bought one. I love how easy it is to hit and recommend to everybody I play with.
  30. I purchased a 12*  910 D2 a few years ago after playing TM for 20 years ( I began with maroon colored Titleist persimmon woods in the 70's).  My playing buddy, who is 6' 5"/ 300lbs, hit a great drive past the mid-fairway sand trap ( which begins at 250 ), I couldn't believe it when my drive cleared his in the air and rolled another 30 yards to about 290 yards.  I have it set to a slight draw bias and get more drives in the fairway and average near 270 yards.  The extra loft keeps my drives in the air longer and lands with a good roll-out.  I never upgraded to a 913 because there weren't many changes.  However, I have ordered a 915 D2 and looking forward to playing with my Florida friends, where I live during winter.  I am 60 years old and live next to #9 fairway in FL, and play golf 3 time/ week.  In Illinois during the rest of the year I am lucky to play 3 times/ mo.
