2 Aces, 1 Round
By Jason N On 31 October 2016
We have a group that travels to Treetops Resort in Gaylord, MI every year. The group has grown from 3 to 24, this year we had 24, the most ever. We play all 5 courses in 3 days. Me and my friend Patrick have been going since we were 2 of the 3 players. We briefly had a conversation with our foursome that after 12 years, somebody sooner or later HAS to get a hole in one, eventually. That was on the first hole. On the second hole Jeremy, a first timer, spun it back and barely missed his first ace. Next up was Patrick and he landed his PW 2 feet behind the hole, spun it back and BAM! His first ever hole in one. Everybody went NUTS!!! 24 golfers on the course at once and we were all going crazy. A few holes later I told him that I'm fine with never getting one because at least I've now seen my first ace. Hole 11 played 135 that day. If you ever check pics of the hole it is narrow and cut out of the forest so that the green is closely surrounded by trees. This made visibility iffy, as you can see on the pictures how the shadows come and go on the green. My shot landed just off on the back side of a sand trap on the left and kicked directly towards the hole. Shadow. Sun. Shadow. Sun. And lost visibility. We looked at each other not believing that it would happen again, and nobody actually could see it go in, but Patrick claims he heard a "tink." I stood on the tee box, holding my position as Patrick and Jeremy raced the cart to the green and as Jeremy ran up there I waited in my follow through waiting for his arms to drop as he sees the ball. But he doesn't. His arms fly to the sky and the screams begin again! I stood amazed at how lucky I was and how blessed I was. In shock. In disbelief. Still to this day its hard to believe. But there it was, in the bottom of the cup! I'll never forget that day and how we had 2 Aces in 1 Round. The 2 people that have been taking that trip the longest, it was an amazing day for our entire group and especially the two of us, and one we will always talk about the next 40 years of making that trip! Thank you Golf Gods!
