A hole in one with my friends
By Guy S On 29 August 2012
I was with my old friends Brad Martin and Neil Elliott and my new friend Scott Semar.
It was the 17th hole at The Glen Club, a semi-private golf course in Glenview, Illinois. The pin was up on this par three and was playing at 145 yards. One of my friends had a distance finder. I hit a 7 iron very well and started walking towards my bag to put my club away. I am a 17 handicap, but I knew I hit it well and didn't need to watch it land on the green. However, my friends starting cheering, "its going towards the hole, its going in, its going in. " I took a peek up and saw the last 5 feet as it rolled in. It must have rolled over 20 feet from right to left on a green with a very steep incline.
I was shocked and excited to see it go in. I realize that luck is a big part of hitting a hole in one, so it must have been my day.
The next hole is a par 5. I hit my hole in one ball into the lake. oooops! I wish I would have saved that ball.
The picture is of me relaxing after a very satisfying day on the course.
